on nights like these....

Uncle Urchin

where brass monkeys abound and polar bears frolic... points are precious and championships are fashioned... nights when players need courage and fortitude and both teams more than came up to scratch in that respect....a frisky urchin start gave simon parker the early chance and goal and from thereonin there was little in the game which offered few chances for either side....mind you janners had a blinding miss..... cry

into njury time and one of the most bizzare incidents I have seen....ball out of play and actually in the hands of one of our subs...lino right next to colin who indicates very clearly that he wants to make a substitution....ainsley ready and standing on the touch line....lino looks totally confused...the wingate bench hand another ball to their player who takes the throw in and is promptly fouled by fletcher just inside our half....colin is going mad and so are some of our players when the free kick is flighted in quickly...sloppy defending and sloppy goal....4 minutes into injury time on my watch.... mad

very poor and very infuriating....won't say the draw was fair because I had us well clear on points and 1-0 up without one shot on dales goal...but thats the way it goes sometimes and we move on...a point gained and 8 clear with two big league games coming up against harlow and maldon who are showing form...

exciting stuff and well done all involved in tonights game...nice club..nice people..always a pleasure to go there...

coldest night since harlow at home. still can't quite feel my toes.

nice bunch of people. beautiful pitch.

happy with the draw in the end, felt like it could go either way.

thought they were taking the mick with the palm trees though...

i walked away from the game with the hump as we should of had the game wrapped up after 55 minutes as e played some good stuff in the first ten minutes of second half, but after a few hours contemplation i think them scoring in the last minute will work to our favour, the same as arsenal scoring twice against man utd at the end of the game will probably work to man utds favour. We probably needed a last gasp goal against us at this time in the season(especially with harlow coming up) to stop us getting complacent and making sure we kill teams off as we should of last night.Saying that i wouldn't of run around in sub zero temperatures kicking a football so hats off to those who played anyway. Not a bad wingate side but we should of really won as they were not as good as other teams we have drawn or lost against ie sydbury, harlow or bury etc etc

I cannot recall any post where your number of supporters were 'slagged off'.... to the contrary I thought it was a good turnout at your place when we visited....

there were probably 60 odd urchins there last night and on a bitterly cold sub zero evening I think that is a credit to them...thing about fans numbers of course is that they are a matter of official record and if you nip over to the official ryman attendance column you will find us at the top of the pile...some considerable way above you... grin

and you won't make your first one wasting your time on here with me either.... grin

mind you when you have several million and loads of kids its hard to lose them all...so don't lose any sleep over me but thanx for the thought.... grin

the four best teams we have played this season so far imo are sudbury..enfield town..potters bar..maldon..

I expect them all to be in the play offs with harlow as an outside bet...
