From the Stevenage website:

On the question of new players arriving at Stevenage and the alleged influx of all the Farnborough team this was dismissed. It was recognised however that inevitably there would be players from Farnborough that may want to continue to play for Westley. He explained "there are players who I have been associated with who I think could do a good job at this club, naturally I want the best players possible to play for me." As a starting point he would as most managers do, look to people he has employed in the past, who he knows well and who have acquitted themselves well for him. Phil Wallace went on to explain that if a player – at whatever club – is currently on a monthly contract then he can quite legitimately apply to that club with a seven day notice to approach the player with a view to joining Stevenage. If a player is on a longer-term contract then negotiations would need to take place with that club. In the case of Farnborough it would be for the new board in place there to discuss the merits of selling or releasing a player and not his business to comment on it. The new board at Farnborough although appointed by Westley prior to his departure was not under his control in any way shape or form and would only have the best interests of Farnborough Town FC and its fans to consider.

I am watching like everyone, although when we played F/Boro always happy to take points away, Sad to see that a Club that must have had a great couple of weeks prior to Arsenal, must be in despair.

Also made a note in my diary re Matt's pledge promise.

Was there any truth in the rumour that Westley has put his wife in control at F/Boro

Thought he was Company Sec...the bloke that's been ripping up contracts of 'worthless' players, including one with a four year contract and another who played for the England non-league team last season. All sound very reasonable.

I think the kerfuffle with Boston was that the wages shown in the contracts lodged with the FA did not match the wages that the players received.

In other words, tax evasion meaning you could afford to pay players more. Imagine a players contract showing £100 a week - so that is all that gets taxed. Now give him another load on the side and you see what I mean.
