Two horse race?

With Leverstock losing heavilly at Chalfont st Peter yesteray, is the SSML Prem race, down to just two teams now?

 

Harefield had their game postponed, and will have a lot of ground to make up, not just in points but in games, and they could end up playing 3 times a week.

 

With Harefield NOT applying for promotion it really is down to just Edgware are Hertford. Level on points, level on games, our match at Hertford next month will be a biggie, that Hertford NEED to win more then we do, a point would be enoguh for us to keep Hertford at bay.

 

I heard from our secretray that if we fail to complete our fixtures by the end of April when the season is due to end, that the league could wipe out any remaining games, is this true, due to our cup games, and the Tring QF last week being postponed and now the Aston clinton QF game on Tuesday will be postponed, both will be played on Thursdays, with us playing Sat/Tue/Thur.

Do you have a big squad to cope with that??
It happened to us a few seasons ago - we actually lost out on promotion to Aldershot. We ran out of steam in the last couple of games and our players were carrying lots of little niggling injuries which didnt help.
Hopefully you wont have too much of a backlog of games.

The big differance with Edgware this season is the running of a reserve side who if they were in the Spartan would easily hold mid table, thats what has seen us through when injuries, suspensions etc would have desimated the squad

FOUR, and yes I agree, but that is where the ressies come in, and we have a BIG squad.

We are in the QF of the Middx senior with a home tie with Hayes next Tues, two SSML QF, both at home, to Tring in the Prem, and Aston Clinton in the Challange trophy, and of course a replay on Tuesday in the 4th round of the Vase.

I fancy you to win against both Tring and Aston Clinton, and although I don't know alot about the other two I would imagine having home matches gives you a decent chance.

 

Looks like you will need that big squad Gavin, got to be a good time to be a supporter though

Yes indeed, this is the best season for Edgware in YEARS, and its conicided with me being match secretary and writing for the match programme :)this season

 

I have been to 34 Edgware games so far this season, and could be we will play 60 matches!
