truth is Ian that WF played it all wrong and it backfired on them.....we have always attempted to 'set up' our away days in the interests of both our own fans and the host club but unfortunately in the case of WF we found it very hard to actually contact anyone to discuss the day with...

our travelling fans and many host clubs have benefited from that sort of communication...sadly not this time...

It may be me - but all the clubs who have money to spend and are buying success seem to think that any criticism is through jealousy of their finances

As far as I am concerned I have no problems with them getting loads of money to spend on players and obviously I would love us to be in that position

What get's up my nose is that all of these clubs -Hornchurch being the latest in a relatively long line going back several years, seem to think it is okay to belittle and look down on other clubs because they are not in the same fortunate finacial position

Everytime they travel they seem to sneer at the efforts of the home team and accuse them of ripping their fans off

The truth is that we did not charge any more to their supporters for car park/entrance and seat in the stand than any other visiting club (I stand to be corrected on this)

But because we try to earn maximum revenue from visiting fans we are accused of fleecing them

It has been pointed out on the Isthmian fans site that alot of other clubs charge admission and programme combined which penalises those who do not normally buy a programme (and some clubs even charge full price when those programmes run out) - at least we give fans the choice

The arguement by these clubs that having to pay for so many things deters fans from buying programmes and perhaps having a burger is I think ludicrous

£6 to get in - £2 for the car park - £1.50 for a programme - another £2 for burger and tea and £1 for the stand - totalling £12.50 per person, if they opt for all the facilities

If they come to the game by car and pay just to get in it is only £8 - not unreasonable surely

When I go to a game I chose what I want to spend - if I am hungry I buy a burger - I always get a programme and if they do not want to pay the £1 for the stand then they can stand under cover behind both goals

Am I missing something here - we are talking £12.50 plus a few beers if they so desitre aren't we not £120

Well Charlie you have gone to some length to explain matters and this has really got out of all proportion.

Maybe you should just read your article in the programme again and this was written even before anyone has set foot in the ground.

HX don't have any more income than anyone else pro rata to fans' attending.

The fact that a lot of people worked damn hard to get the crowds up to the current levels of 5/600 is very relevant, might I suggest you do the same instead of dreaming up incorrect statements.

Having a laugh are you? Anyone who believes Colin McBride and his crew etc plus the players you have are being paid solely from attendance money and ancillaries are living in cloud cuckoo land.

Unc as you know I have been doing this non-league thing for some 15 years and been to most of the grounds having made alot of friends, but this latest crap coming out of WF takes the cake, so lets move on and let them sink in their own mud of a pitch that they have , because they do not have a friend here.........

The last two seasons we didnt have a single game called off and our pitch was one of the better in the league. This year though, our groundsman took his holidays at one of the most important times of the pre-season and it was down to the committee to mow the pitch and water it ect. Without them it would have been 100 times worse than it is at the moment!
