Exeter Match

Recommended Posts

Well , if we have aspirations to move on in the footballing world then this is the type of game we have to get something out off and sounds like we deserved it onthe Radio.

One felloe supporter informed me on the phone that the £60 train fare was worth luke moores goal alone.

Roll on Tuesday and hoping we cna get 3 more points.

Off to a family do where several of the gills supporting members of the family reckoned we would be lucky to get 40 points this season. SHOW ME THE MONEY BOYS.

well what a result, before hand i was would of gone for a point, tough place exeter but when i saw the score 3-0 at half time was loveing it, then 3-1 final score well done.

great to see charlie mac back with 2 goals and luke getting 1 as well.

went and watched dartford today, 1st time i been to princess park eventually. 1st day i could drive after dislocating my knee wooo.

well worth going if you dont do away games, 4-3 win in the last minute and a lovely stadium. If we can anything like that when we move then i will be very pleased and pint of beer £2.35!!

graham porter was on the bench for ashford, eddie mcClements now is a central midfielder for dartford!!

Just got back from the game, and to be fair, how we went 3-0 up I don't know, a great goal (the 2nd by Moore)but the other two were horrendous mistakes by the Exeter goalie, fair play we took full advantage of both so i'm not complaining.

We played well in a few patches, but we weren't very convincing, but it's the sign of a confident team to grind out results like this.

The second half, after a heavy downpour became very scrappy with ball control difficult, and to be fair to Exeter they were a little unlucky not to pull back a goal earlier than they did, they threw everything at us and controlled the half, but then being 3-0 down they couldn't do anything else,we were a little panicky at times in the penalty area, and just a little more possesion football might have taken the sting out of Exeter, but hey a win is a win and with everyone else around us in the league having an off day that was a bonus.

All in all a sweet result and good to see Charlie back again.

What a cracking game couldn't believe Luke Moores goal, although the other two were slightly gifted to us. But while I say that we have to take those opportunity's. We put the goal keeper under pressure and then took our chances, Exeter didn't. Man of the Match was Lance Cronin any Exeter fan will tell you that. Had to go on the train today and as Riverview Supporter said Luke Moores volley was well worth it. Back to goal wide on the right, chested it up turned and volleyed and GOAL!!!!!!!!! We really couldn't believe it and I think it is probably the best goal I've ever seen. I only count goals I was there to see so not games seen on the TV. I saw Zola's back healed flick against Norwich and Ronaldinhos against Chelsea a few years back but for control and daring to do it. Well done Luke.

For all those "moaners" who I hear at the game from time to time, you want to try travelling to some away games that you can't actually access from the M25, had you been at Burton, Northwich and Exeter then you would have seen three of the best goals scored in any league this season. The only "downer" is the team don't have enough faith in themselves, if they had we'd see some more Luke Moore specials. Well worth subscribing to Conferencefootball.tv for.

Look into my eyes, look into my eyes, the eyes, the eyes, not around the eyes, look into my eyes. [click] You're under!

When you wake up you'll be a Gravesend & Northfleet supporter.

You'll hate Dartford.

You'll want them to lose every week.

You'll never want them to progress in any thing.

You'll want them to get relegated every season until they are in the Kent League.

1,2,3 you're back in the room!

Slap me harry , but as I was going out this evening and hence couldnt go to Exeter , I was looking round for a game , and almost went to Princes Park.

As a footbal supporter you see. But then I had an idea to watch Liverpool on TV , then do some quotes.

Phew. nearly had to go see the local vicar bloke for forgiveness,

OH , and it was graet collecting the £5 bets I had in August that we would get more than 40 points.

And has been for a few years now.

I can understand Fleet supporters popping down to Dartford just the once to see what the new ground's like, but it'd be pretty mystifying if anyone starting making a habit of it when the Fleet are away. As has been mentioned before, you don't get Spurs fans popping down to the Emirates when their side is on their travels.

I suppose it would be interesting to see how many Fleet fans made regular trips to Princes Park on alternate weekends if Dartford were alongside us in the Conference and the rivalry had been well and truly rekindled.

As for yesterday's game, we did to Exeter what Stafford and Kidderminster did to us earlier in the season - take nearly all of the few chances we had while the opposition had chance after chance and most of the attacking pressure, but to little avail. Great to see Ricketts back - when he returns to the first XI, it'll be fascinating to see where he plays and who makes way.

When I was younger, quite a few of my mates were
Yid. (sorry I mean Tottenham supporters) and I used to go to White Hart Lane on a regular basis and, being a good Arsenal fan I used to stand on The Shelf willing the opposition to win! It worked too because at that time Spurs were unadulterated crap! Anybody remember the days of Barry Daines, Neil McNab etc?

My favourite memory was seeing Villa put 4 past them before half time!

I also seem to remember there was a case in the mid 60's where a well known Spurs fan bought a season ticket in the posh seats and sit
harranging The Arsenal for the entire 90
minutes!

Nice if you can afford it!

Now does this mean that some of the Tea Hut brigade are secret Canvey Supporters I wonder!

Well I am so happy so see the Fleet push in the League, Exeter is no easy place to go to, and having read the report in the Non-Leadue supplement today it seems we were aided by their goalkeeper. Who cares, and lets hope for another stirring performance on Tuesday night and then later in the week, reinstatement to the FA Trophy. All three of my teams won this weekend, now that does not happen often!!! :-)
