Reserve game !!

Surely the first priority is the 23 FIRST team matches that are STILL to be played on that pitch, at some point in the rest of the season.

 

Twelve Slough games and 11 Windsor games.

 

It needs rest between the fist team games, for the groundsmen to work on their pride and joy.

at a rough calcuation there is about 14 weeks left in the cuurent season (assuming again that everything must be done by the last days of april). that means that there will need to be at least 2 games a week for the majority of weeks left. this means that there isnt a lot of time in between for the pitch to rest, even without any windsor reserve games on it.

Its just as well we didn't have to postpone any games because of good cup runs in the FA Cup or Trophy, or we would really have had a problem.

Martin, don't panic, reserve team games will and have been called of already this season to protect senior games.

From what I remember the deal was that reserve games would be played as are youth team games but if your reserve team remained then the youth team wouldn't happen.

The priority is the senior games but we also have to get the others played when we can. For all we know the weather, irespective of the forecast, may be good for a few days, so why not try and get as many games out of the way as possible.

I see your point but every season it is the same when you have the teams we have on the pitch. Last season and the season before there were the two first teams and the reserves. This season we have effectively the same amout of games and teams. The problem has been the fact we have had one of the wettest winters for a while. There are teams that have only a first and reserve team that are also losing out to the weather and they started the season with pristeen pitches.
