These meglamaniacs must stop treating clubs like toys . Interesting article from the Mail:

Farnborough angered by boss's exit

by Alan Fraser (Daily Mail)

A TEARFULTony Pennock clutched David Seaman's freshly washed and ironed Arsenal jersey yesterday and reflected on the human cost of millionaires treating football clubs like toys.

Pennock was Farnborough Town's goalkeeper when they lost 5-1 at Highbury in the FA Cup on Saturday. 'The greatest day of my career.' said the 31-year-old Welshman.

By Sunday morning the telephone had started ringing and 24 hours later rumours were confirmed when chairman and manager Graham Westley told his players that he was leaving to take charge at fellow Conference side Stevenage Borough.

Pennock said: 'To go from such a high to such a low is awful. I am disappointed and upset and I feel let down.'

He is left to ponder the worth of three remaining years of a full-time contract at a club left with a wage bill it will not be able to afford.. 'I have a wife and young children to look after,' he said.

Pennock is worried, not least because he was excluded from a meeting Westley held with half a dozen players he intends taking to Stevenage.

Westley, who invested a great deal of his own money in the club, said in a statement: 'When I arrived in 1999, the club was on its knees. As I depart, I believe that the club is in fantastic condition relative to the starting point.

'It is currently my intention to gift the shares that I own to the other existing shareholders.'

But just how valuable can shares be in a club with such dreadful facilities and a limited fan base?
