Danny Kedwell

Recommended Posts

Reporter said we enquired about Kedwell, but got quoted £25k.

Also, we've agreed a deal with forward Chukki Eribenne from Weymouth, but Liam's not sure what's happening with that given the situation there. Eribenne here:

Also, we have winger Joel Ledgister from Southend on a month's loan.

It's unfortunate that he's mentioning the moaning now as we, the supporters of the club, were all disappointed about the abject performance on Saturday. I would say that generally the vast majority have been firmly behind him and the team this season. You are always going to get moaners in any walk of life, it's just that the performance was 'that' bad and he must have heard the reaction from the fans.

It is certainly true that every club has their moaners. Ceratin Birmingham City fans were calling for Steve's Bruce's head this season and they currently lie top of the Championship and have now reached the 4th round of the FA Cup after a resounding win over Newcastle. Fans will always moan at certain individual performances (e.g. the shocker against Chelmsford this season) and no position in the league will ever stop that.

If you ask me, it is those who moan who leave a match before the final whistle, which I don't think is on. Take the match on Saturday, people left the ground about five minutes after there goal wa scored. If we had scored between then and the final whistle, they would have regretted leaving the ground.

25k? Just wait till he's out of contract or he becomes "unsettled" and they accept a more realistic offer.

The Erribenne news is interesting - I saw him play for Bournemouth. He has also played for Farnborough and Aldershot - he is a big powerful guy and could be the perfect foil for one of the 3 little guys up top.

This is Ledgister:

No, but Daish is quoted as saying "I've spoken to Chukki and he's come down and discussed terms. I don't know what's going on at Weymouth at the moment. One minute, all their players are up for sale, the next minute they're not. The deal may still be done, but we'll have to wait and see."

He's also played for Havant, so maybe Liam knows him from his days there.

I think Liam knows him from his time at Coventry.

In the cold light of day, though, I did feel his substitutions were too negative, and not geared to change to course of the game.
We clearly needed more players forward, instead of swapping 2 midfielders with midfielders, we ought to have taken off a defender (Jamie Smith) and 2 midfielder (Quinn and Coleman) and gone 3-4-3 with Akinde up front as well.
Clearly we didn't try EVERY avenue to win the game, or at least get a draw, and it is for that reason LD got stick.
I and most can live with cup defeats, Lord knows, we are used to those now; what I am not too happy about is losing without trying everything in our armoury to claw back the game.

Just spoken to Roly and none of the above has happened yet, hence the lack of any form of Press Release from the Club

CG, but your first words to me as we left through the gates were 'Daish has got too' before I managed to cross the road and escape your clutches.

Really? If true that would be quite a turn of stance, again, for you Gary.

Second hand gossip Harry.

C.G. might have been saying 'Daish has got two......' which would also explain why Andrewc was so keen to escape his clutches.

From memory, I was actually suggesting to Andrew that LD has to make his substitutions earlier and more aggresively than he did on Saturday. Left midfielder for left midfielder, and central midfielder for central midfielder. Was hardly likely to change the course of the game too much, which apart from the one off the line, was always looking like a AFC win after they scored.

I was disappointed with the lack of ambition in the substitutions, but I certainly wasn't giving LD any grief.

Oddly, I'm not sure where the moans came from, just heard the usual grumbles from outside the tea hut and shop, but no loud complaints.

As I have said before - I say it like I see it. I refuse to sit on the fence and keep my opinions to myself. Tbh, it's a bit pointless registering on a forum, then keeping any opinions you have to yourself.

Fingers croosed the FA take a serious view on any misdemeanours by the Wombles.

Tough on them, but if they DID field an inelegible player then to be consistent they have to be thrown out.
