Fascinating options for selection of the back 4 on Saturday, then, EFMTFTV. I was surprised to read that Djoumin played 'only' five times in the yeller & blue last season during his one month loan spell. It seemed like a lot more. Exeter have been using Patrick at right back occasionally, apparently, but that looks lik ethree quality centre-backs to me.

Up front, a chance for Leon 'Archie' Archer to start, presumably.

Who's be a manager, eh?

Bring it on.

There's something in the St. Albans Observer to the effect that Dagenham & Redbridge are not to pursue their interest in Hakim, the parties having been in recent discussions apparently.

What a crazy mess that lot is. People, huh?

As EFMTFTV says, t'lad is rated at no more than 50:50 for Saturday due to his ankle injury.

Hmmnnnnn.

Memo to Colin:

Try:

Bastock;

Batt, Sangare, Ada, Flynn;

Matt 'Matty' Hann, Seeby, Marwa, Chris 'Muddy' Watters;

Clarke, Archie.

Subs: Perks, Cracknell, Elphick, Martin and me.

If it works with Seebs holding the midfield in front of the back 4, mine's a pint. If not, you're the manager.

Note to Rob:

We're leaking goals and we have to find the best centre-back pairing. One of the further problems causing the leaking of goals, is the lack of a solid defensive midfield player and 'Jacobs Cream', Marwa, and Davis, do not fill that role. Seebs might be the answer.

I don't know anything about football.

All contributions will be gratefully considered, no doubt, cig [with the exception of anything resembling 3-5-2, of course.]

Patrick Ada is a centre-back who can play on the flank of the back 4. It's time to find the right centre-back pairing as fast as possible. Batt is very quick but is naturally right-footed. Flynn wont let the side down.

If changes have to be made, as they do, keep the changes to a minimum and play the maximum number of players in their 'natural' position.

It's particularly pleasing that, by your silence, you are happy with that last sub from my suggested selection, cig. That's a very clear majority [approximately 2:1] in favour. I'll bring the No. 6 shirt.

Hi Rob.

I've just seen yours. I said on another post that, in their own way, I like Gary, Magnus, and Dave Theobald a lot, but it's difficult to keep championning our centre-backs when we have conceded the second highest total of goals against in the League, or whatever it is.

Have to agree with you, cig, except for Marwa. I much prefer Cracknell until Davis returns. Ada could certainly do a job in the breaking up and holding role. I would still like to see Benyon up front as well. What is the latest with him?

I share your frustration, cig, not at the lack of regular news, but that the club, clearly, have no news for us, as there isn't any. We can't expect the Media and Telecommunications Division at Fortress Clarence Park to be issuing "No change" bulletins every 10 minutes, in fairness, can we?. Hang on a minute. Yes we can! [i blame that lap-dog Webbo.]

Hi Laz.

At the Fans Forum, Colin said that the player wants to extrend the loan [which has now expired, by the way] until the end of the season as do The Mighty Saints. However, negotiations were continuing with Bristol whicheveritis and t'lads agent, and still are, it would seem.

It would appear that negotiations have not yet reached a mutually satisfactory conclusion.

For now, step forward Leon 'Archie' Archer.

Now I think about it, It's Bristol City, Laz.

I wonder if young Elliot was sitting on his father's shoulder that day when The Mighty Saints travelled to Bristol for an F.A Cup tie and said to his dad "What bravery dad! To play three at the back against two of the fastest wingers outside of Division 1 and go for the win. That's the sort of club what I would like to play for when I grow up! Richard Evans is my hero."

It worked a treat that day. We scored two crackers. Happy days.
