Oxhey Jets 4 Hertford Town 3 (aet)

Recommended Posts

Hertford rested 6 of the starting eleven who won 7-1 last Saturday, and it looked like they had taken liberties against the wrong team, as Jets took a 3-0 half time lead through a Glenn Draper own goal, a Tim O'Mara strike and a disputed Marc Ayres penalty.

Hertford re-organised at half time, with manager Dave Greenwood taking the field, and a magic 18 minute hat-trick by Ryan Redford, taking his season's haul to 39 goals brought Hertford level, but neither side could finish the game off in normal time. It was looking all the way like penalties, when Wayne Gladdy nicked the winner for the home side right at the end of extra time!

He's a good player - twin brother Warren plays for Harefield United.

I take it that was the league cup Horace?
Another three for Redford the boy's on fire this year which is great for Hertford although it may be hard to keep him in the summer.
At least with this cup out of the way you can concentrate on catching Edgware.

If the boy is good enough, he deserves a crack at a higher level, although obviously we'd like to keep him at Hertford! 39 in 28 - not bad for someone who can't finish! When a certain bloke was chairman here and Ryno was at Hoddesdon, I wanted us to get him to play with Coops. Was told "He's not good enough, can't finish", so we got Dave Butler instead.

When Kevin Phillips was playing for Baldock, a certain Barry Fry came looking, and said " The boy's not good enough - don't score enough goals"!

Ryno was a little rusty looking in the first half after a few weeks out through suspension...but he certainly found his range in the second half...he's always had good potential at this level and has certainly come of age this season...makes you laugh that he got a bit of stick last season through his poor finishing...hes destined for a high level next season

Don't see how we'll play on Sat - bloody weather! Also not happy about fixing another for Monday - and Barnet at that! No comment on Oxhey pitch!

He He! I assume they'll stick the young guy that marked him last time around otherwise Tobin & Barker vs Redford (add in Roberts to that equation) could be scary...

Hope the game is on otherwise I've got domestic [****!!****] to do! Is everyone still going to go out Sat night regardless of the game?
