How much longer have we gotta wait...

Recommended Posts

Til we get any sort of announcement or apology from someone at Walton & H for last nights shambles?

Do we get our money back? do we get in for free when it gets replayed? cos I doubt we'll get the points from last night.

They are an embarassement to non league football

Id be very surprised to get anything out of them. If they cant even announce the match is off on their own tannoy, what are the odds theyll go to any sort of length to apologise to us?

If we get 3pts from last night ill be truly amazed.

Our first game at Walton was called off because of a waterlogged pitch. Apparently it was the only senior game postponed in the whole of the south east that day and coincided with them not having a manager in place.....

Yesterday the floodlights fail for a second time. I'm told last time Walton were winning the game and the floodlights were miraculously fixed and the game continued, this time they were losing and they cannot be fixed - shock horror

It's difficult to be sure what would have happened in the remaining 25 minutes but in the preceding 65 I don't think they managed a shot let alone a shot on target.

This is the sort of thing that could really hurt us in the final analysis, the league is so tight and it could also affect the teams at the bottom if somehow Walton get out of the bottom three.

And none of that includes the 140 mile round trip, the 8 quid we are never likely to see again and the other cash spent on their sh8te programme, food and drink etc etc.

Personally I hope we do everything we can to get the league to throw the book at them, although let's be honest, we all know that the league will do f88k all in their normal toothless manner.

Rant over...roll on Tonbridge

As much as we would want that Jim, i cannot see the RL doing that.

However, they should take into consideration the teams travelling expenses (coach etc)for re-imbursement. Us mere fans, i very much doubt they give a tiddlywinks about. smirk

As the second half had commenced there is no obligation to refund spectators. League rule 8.3:

Where a match is abandoned before half time the home club will issue a vouched to supporters valid for free admission on the date of the rearranged match. Where a match is abandoned after half time for whatever reason(s) no voucher will be issued.

Rule 8.3 also states that the board can be ordered to stand as a completed match at the Board's discretion, but I believe that would be unprecedented.

The club can claim travel expenses of up to £2 a mile from the home club, however as you would expect the supporters get hosed.

League rule 8.5 is:

Each club must take every precaution to keep it's ground in good playing condition and amenities (including floodlights) in good working order throughout the playing season

Interesting that they emphasise floodlights there.

So, at the Leagues discretion the score could stand? There's always a first time!

So the hypothetical queston is, in the cold light of day & ignoring the score at the time of the failure, would we prefer a point or a replay?

"Things that make you go hmmmmmm...."

Presumably, 5th from top versus 2nd from bottom; you'd have to go for all 3 points in a replay.
