mate ive always said this. When a black person and a white person have an argument automatically the white person is being racist .

I bring up the same argument every time . The MOBO awards , lets just for one minute say that sonmeone came up and said "why dont we have a music awards for music made by white people only and call it the WOBO awards" , There would be absolute uproar

Rayleigh Town 1 - 1 Pro Performance

PPFC came into this game knowing defeat would signal any hopes of winning the league this year .

The game started at a frenetic pace and Town had the better of the opening exchanges , with their best chance falling to Hambleton who with an empty net found the long legs of Flanders block his shot and the rebound was blasted high and wide by Horwood. Pro came into the match with Read and Brown getting some joy out wide and they started to carve out a few chances of their own . Indeed Pro wasted the best chance of the game when a poor clearance by Keyes in goal fell straight to Tubbs with an open goal but he could only get his studs on the ball and the chance went begging with the ball trickling away from the net . Brown was then put through on the half way line but as he approached Keyes his heavy touch made the custodian favourite and he scrambled the ball away . Trenkel also had a glaring miss as he shot wide with two defenders on the line. It wasn’t all one way traffic though as Town made some glorious chances of their own but Barrows, Kemp and Murray all found Green in superb form in the Pro goal to deny them . With half time looming a slipped through ball found Hodges running clear and his shot was parried by Green in goal . However , Green was outside his area and a red card looked imminent , but after a long deliberation the referee decided only a yellow was required. From the resulting free kick the ball was smashed into the wall and what looked like a handball was dismissed by the referee and Pro cleared their lines finally and mounted a breakway of their own but with Haylock in the clear he was synically brought down on the half way line and the Town defender received a yellow for his troubles , one of 5 bookings in the first half (3 Rayleigh , 2 Pro) .

With the score 0-0 at half time manager Trenks made a change , replacing Tubbs ( who was all over the place after an earlier clash of heads with Beale) with Wills and pushing himself further forward .

Both teams returned to the action on the front foot and the only surprise was the score was still 0-0 . Brown , a recent signing from Brit , pushed forward for Pro and he was making some telling contributions , winning his flick ons and setting up some good attacks . Then the breakthrough , Wills released Haylock wide , he fed Brown who slipped the ball square to the onrushing Trenkel who slotted through Keyes legs to send the travelling support of 2 into raptures !!! Rayleigh were now pushing further forward and Green and his back 4 were doing a magnificent job at rebuffing the relentless attacks . Finally on 80 minutes the pressure told and a corner punched clear by Green was rammed home by the Pig to level it up . Pro needed the win and went to 3 at the back in the closing stages to try and force the win . Trenkel could have won it but his shot arrowed wide and then at the opposite end green had to be alert til the last .

In reflection a fair result and although it doesn’t help Pro's cause for the league title a great deal they will take great heart in knowing that in their first year in the premier division they have made an established and successful Rayleigh side sit up and take notice and give them the respect they deserve .

Next weeks crucial encounter with rivals Brit will be a test to see if the Pro boys can carry on the same form .

Team : L Green , J Haylock , T Baker © , J Flanders , A Merry (J Mercer) , C Brown , M Trenkel, C Read , D Trenkel , P Haylock , D Tubbs (R Wills)

PPFC Man Of The Match: Hard to choose one as every player gave their all and contributed to a good team performance
