Whitelock Resigns

Kirk Whitelock spoke with the Eton Manor Website this evening and made the following Statement:-

 

"As of Today Saturday 13th January 2007 I officially resign as the Manager of Eton Manor Football Club, my reason is that I feel that I can no longer take Eton Manor forward, I have put everything into the Club and have no more energy to give. With no budget I am finding it increasingly hard to

compete with teams that can offer players expenses or wages, our players, pay for absolutely everything and give their all, but when a Club comes knocking I can't hold our boys back and have nothing to keep them at the Manor.

 

I would like to thank the Chairman Reg Curtis & General Manager Alex Lee for their support and giving me the opportunity to be involved with Eton Manor FC during the past three years. I would also like to thank Larry McDonald, Paul Tandy, Graham Chester and David Jenkins for their loyalty and support.

I leave Eton Manor in good shape, there is a good squad of players currently at the Manor and I wish them all well for the future.

 

I plan to take a little break and then look at other opportunities within the game, Football is a big part of my life and I hope that I can continue at Semi Pro level in the future. As for Eton Manor I hope they promote from within, I believe Graham Chester would be an ideal candidate but I will leave that for the Chairman to consider.

 

I would like to part by thanking everyone connected to Eton Manor Football Club, its been a privilege to be involved with this great old Club and I sincerely hope Eton Manor go on to bigger and better things in the future"

That is gutting news. Kirk was always the most honest, calm, and courteous manager I have come across in my 3 years on the senior league.
