Ha - using "common sense" when talking about football - whatever next?
Sitting down is mandatory at some Prem grounds. Didnt't ManUre have a huge problem with it a couple of seasons ago? Some fans refused to sit, and Utd were told unless the fans were sitting the stand could be shut - the old "Health & Safety" issue again!
That aside, the club have to act in the interests of ALL fans - not just the ones who want to stand and sing. Foul and abusive language, of which F*€k is the most common, is enough reason alone to be thrown out of League grounds

I don't personally have a problem with the swearing unless its the C. the rest has become less powerful over the years be ot through tv, or being exposed to it more often from kids picking it up earlier and earlier. its not nice but i can handle it. the C is the only word that carries any impact now. if you think about it, whenever you see a pub fight etc, the name calling always goes up in "abuse level" and more often than not the first glass/punch is thrown after someone is called a C

I can understand what your saying about the bad language etc C.G

However, as i have said in the past, i used to go down the ground and watch Dartford every now and again and I can assure you that one or two of their supporters were every bit as unplesant as our lot can be.

I think its got more to do with the area, not the club.

Out of interest, my daughter has been coming to the fleet since she was 7 and we had a pact that what was said inside the ground that she knew was bad language was kept strictly in the ground and not used outside!

She knew if I ever heard her swearing i would go F*****g mental!

There has always been bad language down the fleet. I remember being taken down there as a boy and the old chap telling me not to tell mum what was being said. Unfortunately without the Plough end there is no atmosphere. The atmoshere and noise is what attracts most people to go to Prem clubs. On the subject of attendances perhaps we should put posters up in Polish, Romanian and Albanian.

I have my own ideas on the game & in football in general.....but don't like to shout them from the roof tops, so to speak. ( ok....put Ronaldo, Gerrard & Fabregas in midfield !!! )

There is always room for improvement....which is mainly bringing in better players ( or maybe management ?)....but they cost money...usually lots of....so, unless you empty your Post Office account and chuck yer money in.....and maybe join that gentlemen's club that you have referred to ( i.e. the Board )....then we have to make do with the current situation.

One week you say Liam is the dog's [****!!****]...the next you say it's just [****!!****]. You turn more than the tide !

I respect your right to voice your opinion, but, without loads of dosh, what do you propose to rectify the points/criticisms that you have made ?

..and nice to see you avoided responding to the Macca comment !

Have a nice week....

Not good enough, Hirsty.
You are quick enough to criticise - but are too defensive when asked to form an opinion yourself.
Why not share your thoughts on here?

If we had a better centre half available, then Smudger would no doubt have been on the bench. BUT, as we are so short of defenders at the club, there was simply no one who could play. Macca this season has played very well - far better than I thought he would. He still gets caught out by pacy forwards - only to be expected from someone the wrong side of 33.
I said we could do with another defender - make that at least 2.
Trying to run a full time Conference team pushing for a play off spot requires better numbers than Ricketts (injured) R Smith, J Smith, MaCarthy, (banned), Hawkins and Opinel (who has yet to start a game as a full back!!).
No wonder Liam prefers playing only 3 at the back, he hardly has any spare defenders.

Today we had none.

As for rectifying the situation - we need more fans.
Simple really.

How we get them is more difficult.

The problem is, every time we get the chance to shine - improve our publicity, get extra prize money, get a higher profile, we blow it. Every time. Without fail.

It is not just a question of wealthy board members throwing money at the club, we must get and keep new fans.
Without fail, we spurn the opportunities afforded to us.
Perhaps the club don't feel the Kent Senior Cup. or the FA Cup or the FA trophy are worth winning, but all carry prize money, which can be used to improve the squad.

How we win those matches I do not know.

That is what LD and AK are paid to work out.

Well as we are doing in the league, I cannot see us realistically making the play offs unless we add to the squad.

We desparately needed a good cup run to help that cause, but it now looks as if we will have to stick with the squad that we have.

Not been about this week....so lots to catch up on ! Thought I'd get this one out of the way first !......but then again, I couldn't give a sh*t what you think of my postings/opinions/life/music taste or whatever
so won't waste anymore time bantering with you...must crack on & catch up ! I concede defeat if that makes you feel better......?

You should be the new manager.....
Whatever you say...I can't be bothered to argue anymore ....you've worn me down !

Oops....it the tide coming in ? or going out ?

Regards.....

I was just about to apologise, in hindsight, for the abrasiveness of my earlier comments, but won't bother now. But I will just say this to you:-

We all have our opinions on what should or should not be done with team selection, tactics, club policy/promotions etc. & it would be boring if we didn't ( it's a game of opinions Brian !)

With regards to team matters, unless you tell me otherwise, then you have no experience at football management and, like me, are just the average punter. So I'll leave that to Liam if that's ok ?

What would be good maybe would be to reinstate the Q & A sessions that we had a couple of a few years ago when AF was manager. That would give the fans an opportunity to put points, such as the ones ( many !)that you have made, to the management team & Board representative.

I may raise this with the club.

Sitting on the fence ? As I said, I have my own opinions, as we all have, but maybe people would get bored with me ramming my thoughts down everyone's throat all the time, and thus maybe becoming a tad boring ? (surely not !)

But, just for you CG & you only, here's one for you !

Unless you have the quality of a team like say Brazil for example, then I would like to see at least one of my strikers of a size & ability to be able to dominate in the air so that the other forward(s) or support players can feed off of ( e.g. Toshack & Keegan...apologies for younger readers who may not remember them ). It worked for Fleetway so why can't it work in the Conference ? ( ha !). Oh sh*t, I have given the game away now !

Anyway, not to worry, I am bound to have changed my mind when the tide goes out !(long ball sh*t !)

As for Lederhosen, you're weird man !

Have a good weekend...

Cheers,
