"As for rectifying the situation - we need more fans.

Simple really.

How we get them is more difficult".

Being consistent when playing home matches helps.

Liam can only go with what he's got at present, bear with it.

As I've said before, if we all bring one person with us at matches, we will double our attendance. Bring your wife, or someone else's wife if need be.

Since the start of the season I have now managed to con 4 into coming down to Stonebridge Road, and they have returned for every home match. Mind you, I do give them a lift in (No puns please).

Not quite as simple as that though, Bill.

If you bring kids - they will either have to sit or stand at the front to get any view - and with the recent weather we've had - need to be under cover as well.

Which is why at least 1 guy I know takes his boys to Dartford - I know it's a lower standard, but they all stay dry, have good hygene in the loos, and all have a good view.

I do take your view regarding consistancy at home - that also applies to all cup games.

3 out of the top 5 in the Conference lost to lower league opposition yesterday, one drew at home and the other went out in the previous round.
Over the past few years the major players in the Conference have hardly covered themselves in glory in the Trophy.
If we are to step and become a major player in the Conference we need to sort out our inconsistency problems and to do that we need money. That won't come from the Trophy or the KSC, losing yesterday meant very little but losing to Chelmsford threw away our chance of a massive cash injection for another year.

Good for you Bill. If everyone was as successful as you in bringing in new supporters our finances would improve and so would our chances of success.

Nevertheless, Gary does have a valid point. There is no excuse even in an old ground like ours for not having decent toilets. I am sure this is a factor that would count with many contemplating returning to Stonebridge Road, especially those with children.

We were very poor against a side two leagues below us

Without Charlie up front with Sodje we look like we will never score. Young Luke even looked weak against a team like them - he needs resting and getting out on loan somewhere.

Why on earth we see Quinn week in/week out amazes me . Everyone agrees that he is lazy, slow and fools no-one with his fist clenching and clapping (except maybe LD).

Our squad is weak due to funds etc and without our first choice 11 we will slip down the league. Let's hope LD can draft in a few before the window closes at the end of the month.

Apart from Quinn, I thought everyone worked hard enough, we just lacked any guile or quality and looked no better than Ryman League ourselves.

Oh and one last thing ... do the muppets behind the goal realise how much they are embarrassing themselves and the club by chanting so many obcenities at the excellent away support ... particularly when we are losing ! Maybe when their voices break they will give it a rest.

Agree with some of that, RR, disagree with other parts.

I have made my feelings on Saturday's lacklustre performance already on here and on the official forum, so I won't repeat it here.

The one thing I did find on Saturday that the language eminating from around the drum was truly foul. If we shouted that from the main stand or from the side terrace we would at best get a stern talking to, or at worst , ejected.

For a club trying to raise it's profile as a family freindly club, the small vocal gang behind the goal are undoing any good work that is being done.

We all have the odd curse or swear at the opposition/ref/lino/Jeff King/Westley, but not the sustained barrage of filth that is now heard.

I could bring my 2 girls aged 10 & 7 - they could become lifelong fans. the youngest is very keen.

Problem, toilets are like cess pits, views are terrible unless you pay extra for the main stand, and I do not wish to inflict my girls to such language. No doubt they will learn swear words in the playground in due course.

But I do not want Stonebridge Road to be a place where they are confronted with F**ing C***, and up your A***, every 5 minutes.

Perhaps the club ought to look into this.

While we are on the subject- last year I sat in the main stand for 1 game - a young lad was almost thrown out by 2 hefty stewards for STANDING UP.

Does this rule not apply to behind the goal?

Rant over!

The rule about standing only counts when one or two do it. If a group as large as that in the Northfleet End does it, the stewards will do nothing about it because they have no authority (re. the drunken 'one firm in Sussex' Crawley fans on Boxing Day, who should have been thrown out, but one steward on his own was hardly likely to do this).
