Hullbridge v Basildon

Recommended Posts

Just thought I'd put the record straight about todays game before someone else does.

Yes the pitch as a whole would have been playable but nobody wanted to sort out the bad bits as around one area the soft spots were ankle deep, once again the lack of support shows, i've known some clubs get twenty people to the ground in the morning to sort out the bad areas, people were warned at least an hour before my arrival these areas could put the game in jepardy, but with no man power and no sand (groundsman wont use it) i had no option to call it off, sorry to all those affected but safety of players comes first.

If any one in the forum has law questions i'll be pleased to comment but won't discuss individual officials.

Hey whistle, this is good feedback, well done.

Something you might be able to help me on. I hear many times on the TV pundits saying players can't do this or do that now. Sometimes I am not always convince that there has been an official law change.

Take yesterday's Spurs v Newcastle game.

1)Was Berbatov's attempt to block Given's clearance really illegal? His foot was not high and if he does it after the ball has left the keepers hands where is the danger?

2)Is it automatic and written in the laws that if you raise your hands to an opponent you are off. Is a slight slap (done with no force ,with soft gloves on and not in an aggressive manner) really a straight red in all cases?
