With more rain forcast according to the bbc.

I think the Slough fans resigned themselves to the match being off when it started raining on Tuesday. With 23 home matches between us to fulfil before the end of April, it could become a tight squeeze to get them all in, particularly if the weather continues to be poor for the rest of January and beyond.

With that being the case it probably wouldn't be a good idea to have the various cup finals and school matches at Stag Meadow until May to try to keep the pitch as best as possible for Windsor and Slough. Are these games still scheduled to go ahead?

As far as the Industrial and Thames Valley Sunday League finals go they are scheduled to be played at Stag Meadow.

With regard to the kids finals, we have (as I understand), decided not to allow the semi-final games but only the finals which will mean a considerably less amount of games compared to the previous seasons.

They normally take place in April and May but are always subject to the pitch being available and playable.

Windsor and Slough games will always take priority over these and if there is any danger of a cup final leading to a Windsor / Slough game being postponed then it won't be played (based on previous seasons).

The only other issue to take in to consideration is that we need to start the work on the pitch as soon as possible after the end of the season so it may be a case of just getting them out of the way as much as possible without disrupting the senior games.

There are three maybe four areas that are nrmally a problem.

In the D's on the edge of each area and normally either side of the center circle on the half way line.

The water seems to be draining relativley well but these areas are particularly worse than others.

It was just unfrtunate that the any work that the pitch needs requires a tractor to pull the machines and when the tyres go through these areas it makes it look a lot worse than it is.

Not being biased at all but the pitch was actually in very good condition when we played Maidenhead last week where the rain had washed all the surface mud away and no one had been on it for three weeks. It just goes to show that with the right conditions the pitch is actually quite good.

i have never read such disrespectful postings in my life, your pitch is in good condition for the amount of rain we have had, and i would definately not compare it to maidenhead, for a start, you have clay drainage in your pitch, m/head has no drainage what so ever, i know i was groundsman for five years during Devs reign, no non league club hs the finances to prevent games called off, ie £400 per time to vertidrain, to relieve compaction, the machine that martin had in last week, was a deep decompacting machine, and on the whole did what it said on the tin, you now have no water laid even after a down pour, just because there is not a lot of grasscover, does not mean you pitch is in crap condition, it IS one of the best in the area, and the end of season works was started as soon as finances allowed, but everyone struggled to get grass estalished in the drought, i did at m/head with no irrigation, and even worse at flackwell heath which i also do, so all the planning in the world wont account for the extreme weather, everyone is getting games called off so you aint unique by a long way,how do you explain Reading getting a game called off and thats a premiership ground, with full time staff and around £45000 drainage system in place, i have had 4in a row called off at flackwell cos of waterlogging and im on top of a bloody hill, with a stone sub soil so work that one out....and we also have a groundshare (Marlow utd) i really think people ought to look more deeply into the facts before slating the work that has gone into your pitch this last season...there is alot more you as a club can do to keep your pitch in good condition if you listened to your groundsman, he is after all an ex premiership groundsman...so he does know what he is doing cheers for now..
