Beckham = Class, he's always played the game with passion, and conducted himself well off the pitch (rebecca loos apart) he's a credit to the game but people wanna sl@g him off all the time it's a joke people like to see the fall rather than the rise...........

He played in a world cup and a European championship injured and deprived another true professional of world cup games.

He destroyed our chances in a world cup with petty action you would expect from a 12 year old.

He never performed at the very top level where world class players do the business.

A top international winger for just a few years and nothing since the free kick against Cyprus.

he is worth every penny. they will get that back in merchandise within no time. plus the impact on the game over there will be enormous.

So what if since he left Man Utd he hasnt won a trophy - Madrid have had about 6 managers in 3 years and its a team game isnt it so you cant put it on Beckham !!

He wasnt 100% fit but it meant that much to him to play for his country that he would have gone out their if there was any remote possibility just like we all would do .

I dont hear anybody castigating Wayne Rooney for the same , if not worse actions. Batty and Ince missed pens in that game also but obviously it was Beckhams fault they missed them .

Did Ronaldinho "the best player in the world" have a good world cup - nope . Id rate the Champions league as the highest level as its got the most pace , intensity and financial incentives for teams - and Becks has played the most games ever in that competition for an englishman . International football is over rated and has been since the Champions league changed its format from the European cup .

It was Greece coincidentally pabird (do you watch england games !!) , and after that he still went on to win the league with Man utd before leaving for Madrid and still set up every goal bar 1 that england scored at this world cup ( because he scored that one himself) , so yeah he has done nothing since that free kick . Some people have no appreciation of a footballer !!
