My understanding is the probelm is a more deep rooted than what can be controlled by the poor old groundsman.

There is an inherent drainage problem at Bowers possibly due to whatever the laid th epitch on top of in the first place. I understand a considerable sum was spent a couple of years back in relaying drainage and relaying the pitch. However it does not appear to have been a success (don't know if Bowers have any comeback on who ever done the job or whether there were not gaurentees it would work). It may be bottom lin that the land is just not suitable for a football pitch?
