The ironic thing is that Weymouth were averaging around 2400 so presumably they were heavily overpaying on the playing/management side. They must have made a tidy sum from their cup exploits (Forest comes to mind live TV) for one. I suppose players who play or have played for conference teams must come at a price i guess, and perhaps they went in a little top heavy at the end of the day in the hope of fast tracking themselves to the football league. Just opinions and i could well be wrong but opinions none the less. Good luck to Weymouth though.

is 2400 decent for conference or not? at first i thought blimey that is a lot but compared to 75 in the ESL anything is grin

 

i know oxford broke the record and got almost 10000 but they wont average that.

 

seems that there are ex football league sides getting great crowds but teams that move up towards conference struggle. look at canvey they were getting what? 500?
