As Gary is sure to say, he has asked countless times for information from the club but they are unwilling to give us any.

Most of the information we get to put on the site comes from scouting other teams sites, the Ryman league site and the Bulletin they sent out - which has a lot of the player movements on.

Sadly, Roy is vary wary of the website and the resultant discussions which take place on here. They have issued press releases in the past to combat papers running stories the following day portraying the club in a negative light.

I have continually spoken to him of the benefits of the website, pointing out to him the value of having regular information going on there, but his decision has remained sadly.

That said, speaking from previous experience, we're not journalists continually ringing through to the club management looking for a story each week, so it's even more difficult for us to get news from the club, unless they have something they specifically want communicated through the site.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to commit the time to the site so I'm not taking any credit for the excellent work that Chris has continued to do for a number of years and now Matt Webb and Tom do in maintaining it.

I guess if people are happy to mention to Roy that they would like to see more on the website from the management of the club, then hopefully the idea will catch on, but it will take time.

Sidetracking slightly, is the Trust any different? I know some work is needed in updating information on that site, but how regular is information released by the Trust to go on that site? As has been discussed before, the Hendon Supporters Trust publish meeting minutes from their meetings, yet ours don't?

Oh and just another thing for the Trust board, who is picking up the trust@sloughtownfc.net emails? The last person I knew to be checking it was Graham who has since resigned and don't know if this had been passed over? I can supply all the details and set that as necessary for whoever wants to check it as I'm presuming nobody has had a look in there for a while.

I passed the login details to Radders a while back for the Trust email account.

I know Martin wants the minutes of the Trust meetings published but others are less willing. Personally I think any decisions that require votes should be published with details of who voted for and against motions so that members can hold people to account.

Regards the Trust site. I did contact Alan Harding regarding regular updates, who was going to bring up the situation at a Trust meeting.

Since then we have had a couple of pieces of information through like the race night information. I agree that minutes should be posted so that ALL the fans are able to see what is happening at the Trust - after all the Trust is there as a mouthpiece for the fans.

I am one of the members of the Trust Board who think full minutes of the meetings should be published on the website. There are several objections that are raised. Firstly, the minutes are then available to everybody regardless of whether they are a member of the Trust. We are suppossed to be doing a quartlerly newsletter that is available to members only but that has fallen by the wayside in recent times and even then only provided a summary of the meetings.

Secondly, it is considered to be airing our business publically which may expose things that need to be kept under wraps.

The problem with maintaining the Trust site is that there is very little Trust related news to go on their and people are generally only interested in club matters anyway.

Again I've said that the Newsletter should be published on the site but some of the others have disagreed maintaining that it should only be available to members. Personally I want to see the site developed so I think it should be kept going. Also I would like to see members asked to hand over their e-mail address when joining/rejoining the trust so that we can email them info about events and also things like the newsletter.

Maybe the Trust site could be adapted to feature a log in system for Trust members only - if they provide their email address this could be made possible.

This could allow access to Trust member only information such as minutes, events and the newsletter.

tom ..good idea..are you able to develop this...then all trust memebers could access the minutes and the board would have not objections to that at all...

I think the Trust board are shooting themselves in the foot being all secretive - that's just the sort of attitude that winds supporters up about the way the club is run. OK, we don't want to wash our dirty laundry in public, but minutes should be printed. Maybe a password for Trust members would be a good idea but I looked at the Trust website the other day and it so out of date.

I've done an interview with Martin for the next programme about being on the Trust board, maybe that should go on rather than an interview with Ian about the forthcoming walk to Harrow! And isn't the board of members bit out of date?

BR, if you would like that uploaded onto the Trust site please send it to either me or Matt and we will happily upload it.

We have had no information through as to regards who is on the board of members - surely one of the trust board would have spotted this?

The club never come to the website with news. They have to be pushed for it, and even then, Roy is reluctant to go into too much detail, as has already been covered.

I've done the occasional match preview over the past couple of seasons which has involved asking Roy for team news etc., but that's about it - and due to a number of reasons (mostly work) I haven't been able to do these on a regular basis. I hope to pick this back up in the near future.

While I'm on the subject, if there's anything that other people would like to contribute, such as helping out with previews, then please feel free to get in touch.
