Edgware Town 6 - MK Scot 0

Recommended Posts

To be fair to MK Scot the scoreline flatters us, they had the better of the first 25 minutes, and forced a number of corners, as we were asleep.

We took the lead on 25 from a good free kick which was met by a Ben Hayden header. The second came on the stroke of ht, and I think that killed of MK Scots hopes.

Second half was pretty much one way traffic, though we never seemed to get out of first gear all match.

We rested some players inc our two strikers, so its pleasing that we scored six goals from all areas.

Del Deanus one of our joint managers made a supprise appearence late in the game as sub, and managed to set up one goal and get one him self, even if it was a tap in smile

Aston Clinton at home in the QF, I think that will be played on the date we were due to play Harefield in the rematch.

and you don't really want to play Harefield!

You just seem to have been keen to replace the big match with the cup game! As you have been telling everyone, there will be a great deal of "needle" when you do eventually play the Hares, so the later the better from your point of view?
Yes, I am a Derby fan, that's why I mention them!

The league usually wait to see who is in the final before choosing an "appropriate" ground. We played the Floodlit Cup final at home a couple seasons ago. They try to keep it as local as possible for the clubs to get a good crowd. Theres no point holding say Edgware vs Harefield at Langford - more likely to be at Broxbourne, Oxhey, Ruislip etc

If we get to either SSML final then Broxbourne would be a good venue as the pitch is good there. Other then that Harefield would be good, as the ground is not bad, re the stands.

If we dont appear in one or both of the SSML finals I think there is a very good chance one of the finals would be played at the WLG, as we have an excellent pitch and our ground (stand/terraces) are the best in the league!

Tring's ground is not too bad either , will you be at the WLG tomorrow? or on Tuesday or both games?

Going back to the SSML finals, are they played in midweek, and is it after the season has ended?

1, The corners are going to be seen to by the groundsman, as we have to have the ground inspection in March.

2, A mobile cattering van can easilly be arranged for a 'big' game, and the club are looking at the idea of having a burger/tea bar for next season..its on the list of 'to do's'

Hi Paula wink I see that you put (hun) so I must be back in your good books. Last weeks comment about pikeys was just meant as a wind up, I am sure you know that, I never even knew till you told me that your ex owner ran a chain of caravan parks!

As for the burger bar, I am sure the club will have something in place for the start of next season, should we hopefuly win promotion this season.

Gavin, (sweetheart) you were never out of my good books. It is all banter both me and Cantos knew it was a wind up (which is why we continued the thread). He is probably a bigger nutter than me (although probably 2 foot shorter).

You will need a burger bar though - oh and an extra bar maid or two (although saying that two of our barmaids jumped behind the Bar at Wingate & Finchley coz they hadn't expected 150 pissheads from Canvey to turn up) so I suppose if you cant cope we could always help out smile

Waiting for a Sky engineer at the moment which is now likely to be after 2pm so probably not today. Got injured over Christmas so not playing at the moment. May be on the bench on Tuesday, if not I'll be there to watch.

A lot depends on when the teams are free although most finals are midweek. The season is scheduled to finish on 28th April so I wouldn't be surprised if they had finals on either 5th May or the Bank Holiday Monday
