to the final at roots hall and another conf sth team out tonight as GWR beat thurrock 2-1....

 

thought we were excellent tonight for 35 minutes and effectively killed the game off...I still cannot see harlow catching us....those little 'training ground triangles' might look good but they don't get behind teams and in spite of the referees abysimal attempts to get them back into the game they never looked likely to do so....one shot from open play on our goal all night and dales most comfortable game for a good while really....their 1st goal a fluke of crazy proportions and the 2nd slopppy defending whilst we were still arguing with the ref about the ridiculous free kick he gave them after ronnie fletcher had been fouled in injury time....appalling officialdom and thats the 2nd time he's done that at the bridge this season......

 

well done all in very difficult gale force conditions and nice to see dicky harper helping out at the bridge tonight...thanx dickie...always welcome...

 

and methinks that harlow will struggle to sustain the pace over the next few months....we'll see....

 

now who do we want in the semi.....??? feedback

I've got to say Unc that you're a disrespectful and arrogant old bugger.

 

Yes, we didn't play too well last night, or indeed in the game against your little urchins at our place.

 

But many of the teams we've played this season have said we're the best footballing side they've played.

 

Last night we rested our regular keeper, a centre back, midfielder and first choice strike partnership (one half of that came on and your defence struggled near the end).

 

You will win the league because you're paying more in wages than anyone in the division. A whole Division One South team wouldn't drop down two divisions for the love of the game or love of the manager.

 

We'll get by on our small budget, hopefully finish 2nd and have a good crack at the playoffs. And that'll do us for the moment.

Hawker, this is our forum and we'll say what we like, so there. I wasn't there, so cant comment on how good your lot were, but league positions dont lie. We're both playing good stuff, sometimes we win ugly, but that's what you have to do to get places sometimes.

 

I admire any team willing to knock the ball around and please the crowd, so good luck to you for the rest of the season, and here's hoping we're both in the mix come judgement days ahead.

can't understand why I am being disrespectful hawker...as always just saying it as I see it and my short report above summed up the evening quite accurately I feel....I am sorry that I didn't say you were wonderfully talented as quite frankly I didn't think you were (in either game)

your rant about wages is however somewhat disrespectful and churlish as you have no idea what our players are paid....if we are opening up the door for assumptive assessment on such matters then I would have to say that sammy winston getting 500 quid a week is hardly the stuff of low budgets....

anyway calm down and hard luck and see you in two weeks when hopefully we can get the chance to play your 'first' team as you always seem to not have one playing in each particluar game... grin

fact remains that we do of course get to find out what managers are paying what and what players get what and I can assure you that our budget is by no means the highest in our league and will not be much different to harlow's.....our boys would play for colin for nowt (and some of them quite literally do) a freshing change from seasons past I must admit but its all about the manager and his ability and we have the best by a long stretch in colin and his coaching team...

 

its all water off a duck's back mate....onwards to saturday and another load of whinging forum fans.... biggrininvasion

marc salmon went from harlow to charlton!! when he got released he went straight back to harlow. that is either pure love of the club or he gets a bit of dough. got a testimonial few months ago v spurs.

I arrived late and missed our goals, I thought the match was pretty even. Harlow are a good team, probably one of the better teams that we have played this season, but attractive footie wins [****!!****] all, it is always, points mean prize's and by the end of the season we hope to have more than anyone else.

The ref was terrible and should be ashamed of his badge.
