This is from their board. They are so full of crap

Weymouth Football Club Chairman Martyn Harrison today announced that a number of changes at ‘The Terras’ are being implemented as a consequence of an on-going review he has conducted at the club over the past few months.

‘Weymouth F. C. is an important part of a wider business and for almost two years I have devoted considerable time and resources to re-building the club to ensure it’s long term future. This has proved to be enormously difficult and has placed considerable pressure on both myself and my other businesses. Following a review of all our activities I have concluded that the best way to achieve the original goal of a sustainable football club is to re-structure, set new challenging but realistic goals for the future and operate very much more in line with the income we are able to generate.

‘The plans we have for the re-development of the club encountered set-backs last year but we are working on a revised strategy that I believe will offer up a sustainable future for Weymouth F.C. I continue to view this initiative as vital for our future.

‘In the weeks ahead there will be a number of changes that will place us in a better position to give the club the future it needs as well as the ability to maintain financial self reliance. I am working closely with the Board and Management to ensure that these changes take place as soon as possible. It will be a painful time for us as it is likely that there will be changes in the squad as well as some personnel at ‘The Wessex’.

‘I appreciate the irony of these changes coming at a time when we are enjoying success but it is imperative that achievements are delivered in a sustainable manner. I believe that now is the right time to make the changes that will give us the long term future we need.’

Blimey, Garry Hill's like the Grim Reaper, leaving dead clubs in his wake (assuming he actually leaves).

Mind you, their chairman had the personality of a ready-salted crisp. If he was as good with money as he was at being a sparkling media personality, can't say I'm surprised!

This is madness. I wouldn't read confguide at the moment, it's suddenly turned into "Weymouth are going bust guide".

The press release is very well spun. There is nothing in there about Hill being sacked or the players transfer listed while the unlucky ones have been booted out along with the manager. If you just read that press release you'd think some new investment had been made.

Looking at what players would be available it would be nice if we got our hands on Ben Smith, very tidy little player who scored the chip against us earlier in the season. Doubt it though.

There are now rumours that Saturdays match with Burton was called off for "other reasons". Imagine if they had played Halifax, they'd have started a petition by now.

We are going back to being part time!

We are going to sack our overpaid manager and get rid of the players on massive contracts.

We have just dropped from third to seventh.

I'm not putting any more of my money in.

this is good and bad news:

good news because we can try to get some of there players and bring them back down to earth with wages. Most of them are from London/essex.

bad news cause i liked going down there, went every easter and during the summer. Use to pop along to the Wessex to watch a match.

Good news.

There are currently 7 or 8 teams fighting for 1 automatic promotion and four play-off spots, if Weymouth have just dropped out of that race then that is good news for us.

Bad news.

With what is happening at Weymouth, Crawley and the jury is still out on Grays the Conference relegation issues could well be a farce again.

No news.

I very much doubt that we can afford to pay the kind of money Weymouth players will be wanting, nor should we even if we could.
