How's the pitch looking-chances for saturday

I think TBM posted yesterday it was looking a bit sad.

 

I see weather forecast over next few days is:

Today cloudy

Wed sunny intervals

thurs Heavy rain

fri light rain

sat sunny intrevals.

 

Is there still standing water on pitch, and if it survives thursdays predicted deluge ,could the game be on do you think ?

You pays your money MM and you get what forecast you want.

 

According to the Met Office there should be light rain on Wednesday between 06.00 and 12.00 and then dry after that. With the high winds and above average tempratues that we are due the pitch should be able to dry out.

 

But as I say you pays your money.............

Any rain after Wednesday and the pitch will be in serious trouble.

Anyway I must dash need some more bait!

As I drove by HDP this afternoon,saw a lot of sand being deliverd,maybe they are trying there hardest to keep the weather out to get this game on....Hope so?

Hi Tone. Maybe we are trying to emulate Ramsgate with the sand! Nah, we will still be playing on the grass in most rather than the sand in its majority. l.o.l.
I too had a look in but hardly any sand on the pitch as yet & pitch looks fine though a prolonged downpour i.m.o would give us a a problem I reckon. AS you say all that extra sand might be in anticipation of the heavens opening up.Its vital that the club get EVERY game played if at all possible so I think they will be doing their utmost to get it played as scheduled.

Yep, I have had some sand shipped in. I offered the Club some best Saharan sand, which is sometimes red in colour.

 

However, not surprisingly, the Club did not want any "red" influences at HDP. So I have just let them have some basic stuff.

Not wishing to tempt fate but looking at the rain radar the rain seems to have bypassed us.

 

Just hope the wind keeps blowing till Friday night to help dry out the pitch.

Have just returned from a visit to HDP only to see Ray, Mark, ? and Porka all working on getting the pitch ready for tomorrow. They will no doubt tell us exactly how it is but it should be playable.

 

Finally would just like to thank the 4 of them for the great work they are doing.
