Are KTFC king of the Rhodes?

Recommended Posts

Darren Cox is still very much part of the Club's plans, he's still the second string goalkeeper behind the new guy Paul Williamson as James Noonan is out for a couple of months following his serious injury sustained against Cockfosters due to the dangerous playing conditions.

Wingman - I couldn't agree with you more, Darren is injured at the moment though according to Frank but as soon as he's fit no doubt he will walk into the team, as you say the penalty save against Hendon made Banks in Mexico look ordinary.

Potters Bar Town - We have three top quality goalkeepers who we rotate, Chelsea style, however two are injured at present so that just leaves Paul 'The Cat' Williamson who made his full debut last week at Cranfield United. Horace - No I'm not exaggerating in the slightest, the penalty save made Banks in Mexico look run of the mill, a number of people on here will verify that including Rak.

i know Tommy Lambourne was on trial at a sunday league team, but i dont think they took him on, something about lack of technique for that level!

You are missing my point, as usual. The point I was making is that you attributed this "hype" to wingman06! He just referred to it as "the penalty save" but you made out, unintentionally because you don't know how to construct a sentance properly, that he had said that "it made Banks in Mexico look ordinary". He dind't say this, it is what you are claiming.

Fortunately my blood pressure is controlled by tablets, so I am able to read your posts without blowing a gasket.

Even making allowance for your poor syntax, it is laughable to describe any save as making "Banks in Mexico look ordinary". Your 'keeper's penalty save may indeed have been exceptional, but nothing can make Bank's save "ordinary", or "run of the mill". It wasn't!

I think you'll find that, as usual, 3praise was on a silly wind up, you know what he's like. Lambourne is one of my favourite players but I still don't think even he would get into our team at present which is why I haven't pursued his services.

At our Club, it's the manager who decides whether a player is needed, not the Secretary!

Well that's just my point, the penalty save was that good, I also recollect Gordon Banks making a penalty save from Geoff Hurst for Stoke in the 1972 league cup semi final at Upton Park which easily bettered his legendary save from Pele in Gualadajara. Darren Cox's save was better than both of them put together and you can throw in Montgommery's too in the 1973 cup final for good measure.

Well that's the beauty of our Club, it's an all for one, one for all Three Musketeers type set up and even if the tea lady sees a player she fancies we listen, if not we could be letting another Lee Scott slip through our fingers.
