Are KTFC king of the Rhodes?

Recommended Posts

Having poked fun at Hounslow's possible decision to end their groundshare agreement at Ruislip. I note from the KTFC website that they are seeking agreement for permission to switch their scheduled game against Cranfield United next weekend to their opponents pitch. This apparently because "Hendon's feathers were ruffled" following the state of the "hallowed Claremont Road turf" following their game on December 30th. I do sympathise that it's the responsibility of the referee to abandon or not and it's definately not the fault of the clubs involved. More significantlty, is this a temporary setback for KTFC or are they on the way round the North Circular Road once more.

According to the KTFC forum permission has been granted for Saturday's game to be played at Cranfield United due to Claremont Road being unavailable to KTFC for the month of January. Our (Hendon's) home game was postponed on Saturday - although I don't think the damage done due to the KTFC game had much bearing on it.

Hopefully the fact we can now rest the pitch for a fortnight will mean our crucial relegation game against Walton & Hersham can go ahead in a couple of weeks time.

Yes that's right, the decision not to postpone or abandon the Kentish Town v Cockfosters game last week was probably the worst I have known in over 40 years of watching the beautiful game and it is unlikely Hendon will allow us to play at Claremont Road again this season as a result. Yet another setback for the bedouins of non league football but we just carry on regardless, as Gavin says about Edgware 'no one likes us but we don't care'.

Rhodes, i have asked exhaustivly and had sleepless nights on here reguarding your plans for a home ground and it seems that the almighty Hendon have now given you the boot, i am concerned for the existance of KTFC what are your plans now?

Playing all games away is going to be an issue for those with reserve sides as well! More fixture headaches for the league.. they're going to love you guys.

Doctorwho - Where have you been hiding lately, you have been leaving 3praise to fly the Haringey Borough flag single handed on here although to be fair he has been giving as good as he gets. Hackney Marshes doesn't fit SSML criteria even for Division 2 Club's, it's hardly our fault is it that the Cockfosters game was allowed to go ahead last week in those atrocious conditions ruining the hallowed Claremont Road turf.

Well as I said we wouldn't be able to play at Hackney Marshes due to SSML ground criteria particularly in the Premier Division next season however it makes no odds to us where we play as a football pitch is a football pitch. That's the beauty of Kentish Town, our players were all brought up kicking tin cans around the streets and Council Estates of Camden and are happy to play anywhere as long as they have a ball at their feet.

Wingman - What happened to you and Saf on Saturday, we could have done with you. Tommy Lambourne is a former Haringey Borough player, he became disolusioned with the beautiful game following a short spell with Ruislip Manor where he wasn't appreciated and has gone back to his roots playing at Hackney Marshes and Wanstead Flats. I'm hoping to persuade him to join us before too long.

I don't think that is the case, obviously you and Saf are an instrumental part of the Club and Saf is a quality player of at least Step 3 standard so it wouldn't make sense to drop him incase it ruffled his feathers.
