Record Breaking Season on the cards for St Albans City!

St Albans City FC are only two players short of breaking the record of using the most players in a single season! In the 1997/98 season, Doncaster Rovers used 47 players throughout the season when they were relegated to the Nationwide Conference.

 

Unfortunately for Rovers, they also suffered the humiliation of recording the most defeats in the same season when they lost 34 of the 46 games.

Bumble the Bee is still at Underhill. He’s not one of the better mascots in the Football League but he does do plenty of fundraising and works with the Keep Barnet Alive Campaign (KBA).

 

I still think you should have a Roman Centurian mascot at Clarence Park. York City FC get more requests for personal appearances by Yorkie the Lion than for the star of the moment ‘Clayton Donaldson!’ Having a mascot is a perfect vehicle for spreading the name of the club amongst junior supporters.

I suggested a Roman Centurion on here a while back. I have a book about club mascots, it's amazing how many clubs have lions for mascots, not very original. Maybe York City should consider getting someone to dress up as 4 chocolate wafer fingers?

They were - but Alban(us) was a Roman soldier himself.

 

Don't remmeber any lions, either real or fake, supporting York City at CP.

Yorkie the Lion or should I say Steve (inside the suit) put in the request to make an appearance at CP when we played there. His application was turned down by someone at the club. I was surprised by this because the Tamworth Lamb made an appearance when they played at t'Park. Maybe 'The Man who used to drive a red tractor' is afraid of lions but not afraid of sheep!

The Lambs of Tamworth were slain in the arena by our Gladiators. Do you think York would have faired better with Kit Kat the Lion in attendance.
