Be nice to people on the way up - you might meet them on the way back down!

It was a bit of BAIT for BBB... Dont worry i finally caught BBB aka Jimmy Bullard in a larger trap!

With Ashley Mac out injured, surely BBB should be in with a shout for the starting 11?

who knows !...we signed 4 players last week...plus jimmy bullard...thats 5 !

Cheers Horace, all what was said on here is only banter, glad you see it in that way.

Gavin dont worry i will keep that run going of neilson's scoring against edgware. and dont worry you will slip up soon you cant win every game.

BBB you could not beat us when you were at BB, and you will not beat us IF you play against Edgware next month!

As for slipping up, you are going to need us to more then slip up if you are to have any hope of catching us.

FOURTEEN points is a hell of a lot of ground to make up, and we have only dropped NINE points from a possible 63, as we have 54pts, compared to your 40!

I've seen two of your victories this season Gavin and you would struggle to stay up next season with that squad. There is a huge gap between the SSML and the Ryman/Southern Div 1. We went up as quadruple winners yet it took us five games to even score a goal let alone pick up a point. If you can survive the first season you have half a chance but that is far easier said than done, look at Flackwell Heath's current league position.

If you do get promoted this summer, it would not surprise me if you are swapping places with Harefield next summer. I would heed Horace's warning if I were you.

Bullshit pbt, first off, Flackwell were only promoted becuase Barking pulled out of the divison and they went up in 4th place.

Secondly, PB struggled as they dont have the squad suppport or ground that Edgware have.

Remind me again of the quad you won in the SSML the season you went up?

If or should that be WHEN we go up, we will more then hold are own, we will be able to attract better quality players to the club, and our crowdds will rise to the club will have more money.

How can you judge a team by watching them just twice?? Sure if you had seen our game at Bigg Town and Oxhey for exampe you would be less then impressed, however if you saw our performance at Broxbourne and Hertford for example you would have been impressed. What two games have you seen us play?

As for the remark about swapping places with Harefield next season, what makes you think that if we were to go down it would be Harefield coming up? surley Hertford will be the favourties next season

Found this on the potters bar site

2004/2005, a season that was to become the most successful for the club to date. The first team lifted no less than four trophies in the shape of the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division Championship, the Premier Division Cup, the Herts Charity Shield and the Potters Bar Charity Cup.

...

So they actually won TWO SSML comps, a county cup, and whatever the potters bar charity cup is, prob between Potters Bar and some local side.

Fair play to PBFC, they have done well for themselves in recent years, but a look at their ave crowds will tell you they have not been able to move on much since they have been at a higher level.

No bullshit there, son.

Flackwell may have been lucky to be promoted but it still shows the difference in class between the Leagues. If you want another example, Ilford came up as Ryman 2 Champions last year, wer eonly reprieved from relegation on a technicality and are struggling again this time around.

Not sure what the ground has to do with performances on the pitch. Ours passed the grading criteria and we have one of the bext pitches in Hertfordshire (good enough for Stevenage Borough to play their home Capital League matches on until they chose to switch into the Football Combination). What more is needed?

The quad we won was the SSML title, an SSML Cup, a County Cup and a Charity Cup.

If you do attract better players to the club, you will have a chance (that was basically the point of my post) but there are no guarantees that will happen. Kevin Lucas came from Edgware Town to PBT and thought most of his Edgware players (who had a good run in Ryman 2 the previous season) would do a job for us in the Southern League but they were nowhere near good enough.

Yes, I've only seen Edgware twice this season but they were against very different types of opponents. I have also made my assessment based on my knowledge of both leagues. As for which two games I saw, you obviously have a very short memory as they were both well documented on this forum. One of them was only last week, and the other was when you stood in the corner of the same boardroom as me and didn't say boo to a goose all night.

As for swapping places with Harefield, that was just an example. Could just as easily be Hertford, Broxbourne, Chalfont, Oxhey, one of the relegated clubs, etc. Probably not Kentish Town, though!

We stuck six past Colney Heath in the Final, actually. Would have been seven but we had a perfectly good goal disallowed in the last minute (would have been Richard Howard's 50th of the season as well, c'est la vie!)

HAHA, didnt say boo to a goose smile if you knew it was me why didnt you come over and say hello?

Its not like me to be quiet LOL

No short memory, I just dont recall the games that every forum say they have been to.

Let's win promotion first, then we can worry about the standard of the league when we find out what league it will be, it could be the southern league or the Isthmian league.

Brook House have proved they can hold thier own in the higher divison.

Hanwell look like they are coming back down, and Hillingdon are not really doing much better.

Last seasons SSML champs Oxford city are doing well
