Folkestone 3 Billericay 3

Really the result matched the conditions...if I was asked would I settle for a before the gamepoint...I would've said yes.

I don't know if their first was off side, I was standing at the other end but I wouldn't have been surprised.

Our first and second were great goals and the third scrappy but they all count...We could've gone on to win it but the wind and the rain set in and made thegame scrappier than ever...

The ref wasn't bad either but his line assistants were awful. everyball that went over the top of their back four was called offside mad But no real complaints about the result.

Another great show of character from the team to come back from 3 - 1 down.

5 points from the top now....

I think overall it was a fair result and both teams should be applauded for putting on a decent show in the swamp-like conditions.

From our point of view it was a bit disappointing to concede at the start of both halves although the first was well offside apparently. We had a few chances to clear the ball before their second but on a day like today I suppose the defences were always going to struggle a bit.

Our first goal was excellently worked down the right and the second another great shot from Dorms from outside the box - that's three like that in a month from him.

We never gave up and our team's resolve is standing us in good stead at the moment. See Whelps went off with what looked like an arm injury..Any news on that at all?

As for Tuesday, I spose we'll have to wait and see but the pitch must be virtually submerged at the moment.

Our first ever point in Folkestone, and given the circumstances this was an excellent result. On a pudding of a pitch against a team of 6 footers we worked our socks off battled away and got the results.

I thought our front two today were superb. Must have been giving away about a foot each against the folkestone centre backs but were winning headers and both kept running for 90 minutes.

We need to defend better at set pieces, we missed macca there.

As JL said, a couple of excellent goals from us.

A hard earned point and a very important one with the league still so tight. Joe Flack has developed a great work ethic and it really showed. Agree with JL, both teams put on a good show on a rough pitch.

Well done again to the lads for refusing to give in and continuing the great attitude they have been playing with recently. Once more a good turnout of support and in games like this I think it really is the proverbial 12th man.

I would agree, our support was very vocal and gave as much effort as the team.

The entertainment value is one which is being pointed out at the moment and I think jl was right to mention that both teams gave as good on a pitch that looked weather worn...saying that though, with the conditions as they were before and during the game, hat's off to the Folkestone groundsman.

Very entertaining match. Some positives and negatives:

Positives: great fightback from 2 goals down. cant complain about getting something out of a match that looked lost

we score three again. despite having so much of a problem scoring in the early part of the season, we now have one of the more potent attacks in the league. our goals per game in the last couple of months must be around 3, which is excellent.

dormer strikes again. he has scored a fair few goals this year, all of which seem to be well struck shots from outside the box. this is a great habit to be in as it takes some pressure of the striker.

support was nice and vocal today (myself included). id like to think this lifted the team. it needs to be the same tuesday

negatives: sloppy defending cost us the win. as i said our attack is scoring a lot of goals, and on most occasions this allows us to win. its disappointing to score 3 and not win. however, the 1st goal im sure was offside. the second was fairly poor defending. the third i didnt see as i was getting a consolation burger. i think swaine struggled at right back. however, conditions were tough for the defense

whilst the fightback was great, it was a shame to find ourselves needing it again.

we dont seem to be able to win away at the moment.

anyway, enough of the negatives, it was a spirited performance in tough conditions, and its to be applauded.

roll on tuesday

I think this thread should be deleted as three people have said that they agree with me!

Once again our "full-time" status has been highlighted on the oppo web-site, which is mildly annoying to say the least.

We are still very much in the hunt with two "monster" home games coming up. Hopefully the squad's fantastic effort and committment can continue.

Well, it was from the same club that said that last time...

In my own opinion, the only clubs that could afford to consider full time status would have to have a manager with pockets as copatious as a Rhino's scrotum and imagine themselves a City!!!

Well what can only be described as an exceedingly heavy pitch both teams combined to make it an exciting game. To be 3-1 down and end up being the team that looked likely to win it says a lot about the progression the lads are making. Hope Whelps is ok too. Cracking goal from Dorms, and good to see Flacky in the goals too. Could not see really from where we were but their third goal must have bobbled in the box a long time before it was put in. So I guess "if" that was the case Matt will pick up on the if in doubt hoof it out. Anyway, a really entertaining game and for many of us en route were really expecting a call to say game off too!

But, the big winners were our players, a year ago we would never come back from 3-1 down and end up looking to win the game! Well Done!

Wonder if the players picked up on the chant - "Were nice and dry in here" grin

Tuesday is another big game. But then they all are now eh!
