I'm sure there was a match in the Jubilee year, all I can remember was that it was the one where they gave every supporter a jubilee badge when they came through the turnstile.

I was at home with the flu and was a tad pissed off to miss the match, but I got to see the replay

Game against Newport definitely abandoned. Early 90s I think. Also that match at a fog bound Sittingbourne. We were 2-1 up, but it was impossible to see both goalmouths from anywhere in the ground. They won the re-match 1-0, thanks to Fleet man to be, Dave Bourne, & went on to win promotion.

One thing the Club could do in the replayed match is to use one of the 'priority ticket vouchers' from the back of the season ticket booklet.

Strangely, ever since the Club changed from laminated card season tickets to booklets, cup success has been somewhat limited and these vouchers have never been needed. So now we know what to blame for our dire FA Cup form.

The Newport County game was definitely on a Saturday afternoon. It was abandoned due to waterlogging very soon into the second half, so there was no refund. I remember that it was very wet indeed!

I certainly recall a game also on a Saturday afternoon being abandoned due to snow in the 1960s. In those days I came to games with my Grandad who was a lifelong supporter of G&NFC and Northfleet Utd before that. I remember the groundsman having used a broom to mark where the lines were supposed to be. I recall that the game started but couldn't continue beyond about 20 minutes due to it continuing to snow as the 'lines' were covered up. I don't remember the other team or if there was any score when the match was abandoned. I also remember that we walked there and back and took a less dangerous route home along Galley Hill because of the amount of snow that had fallen over the North Fields route back to Swanscombe.

I don't for one minute think that the game would ever have been started if conditions were like this in 2007.

As for Saturday against Halifax, the match at Southend may have been completed, but a better comparison is the much closer Canvey Island match at home which was also abandoned at roughly the same time as our game. Presumably Southend's pitch was not as wet as ours or Canvey Islands!

Roots Hall is just behind the town and so is raised up above sea level. Both Stonebridge Road and Park Road at more or less at sea level and so the water table is much nearer the surface

I can certainly remember the game, I am not sure of the opposition though.

I think it might have been against Ashford Town. But I can remember a blinding goal by Ray Buckley.

Pity it didn't count for anything.

Now you said that I think you maybe spot on,it was stopped due to not being able to see the lines on the pitch
