Apparently no refund as "conference rules" state once half time has been and gone refunds are not avaialble.

2 questions I have for someone at the club

1) Why are admission tickets not issued? (these can be used as rain cheques)

2)Did the groundsman have a day off?, at HT no one was tending the pitch or while assesment was taking place.

Cynical me wonders if HT was convenieintly navigated so as to cancel the game with no refunds.

I am a floating supporter who takes in games when my team is away, maybe the sort GNFC should look to attract.

As I mentioned on the other thread. With the amount of water on the pitch and the fact it was still raining. Sticking a fork in the ground would make very little difference. Specially when you consisder it's like to be clay under there anyway. The water was going nowhere.

It could be the lowest gate of the season for the replay if the club does not make some provision for us fans that were there tonight.

The pitch was heavy well before HT.

I am a season ticket holder and voucher 14 is missing from my book! smile I agree it is not so fair for those that paied on the door. Or the Halifax fans that travelled down.

If your a real supporter you will attend when its played again. was far better to stop it, than end up with long term injuries, or a broken leg etc

Agreed. I am season ticket holder as are the people I go with. So, unless I am working late (it bound to be a mid-week game). I be there! smile Not missed a league home game in two seasons, not about to start now!

Hear hear Gavin... it was the ref's decision, not the club's. The downpour was at its worst at half-time and just after, so hardly a 'conspiracy'. What nonsense.

I haven't had a game abandoned (that I recall) in 18 years of watching the Fleet... am I really going to begrudge the club that £12? That's the risk of attending football in the winter... the odd abandoned game is the risk you take for attending when it's raining... how anyone (other than Halifax fans as they were winning 2-1) can be upset about it is beyond me.

I was amazed that the ref took the players off and initially 'would wait 15 minutes'.

I can only think that this was as a result of complaints from the Halifax management about abandoning the match.

Had an equaliser been scored, at 2-2 it would have been abandoned there and then.

That said, wasn't a very impressive display in the first half.....

Daish said on the radio he'd asked the ref exactly the same question, whether he'd have abandoned it there and then if it had been 1-1.

That said, apparently the Halifax manager agreed conditions were bad and he and Daish went to the ref and asked for an immediate decision.

I have achieved a "first"

I've been watching footie since 1967 and thats the first one I've been to thats been abandoned!

I'm amazed they came out for the second half at all but I gather the Ref was keen to "give it a go." I could see his point as Halifax won't relish coming down on a Tuesday night (extra expense and winning as well) but it was pretty dangerous out there and the likelyhood was that someone would get hurt.

Felt a bit sorry for the Halifax contingant until they decided to abuse the stewards afterwards..... Its hardly their fault is it?!?!

Personally, I'm glad it was abandoned as I reckon it was one we were going to lose as their defence was coping pretty well with all we were chucking at them.

Can't really see what all the the fuss is about vis game being abandoned. The ball could not travel across the ground without being held up by surface water....so end of......irrespective of what the score was at the time. If it happens in the Premier League ( Watford ) then it can happen in the Conference.

Cheers,
