I think Okuonghae was caught out for the first two goals - mind you he didn't get much protection from the mid field.

 

The forwards rarely threatened and Hann's dead ball kicks were woeful.

 

Good news (positive to take away)? - 'Jimmy' still looks a class act

Chris Watters showed some good signs down the left but where was his support? We hardly got to see anything from Archer as he was brought on too late.

All in all it was a dreadful performance Saints. It really was a six pointer and the team blew it. The Vics have gone 5 points clear of City and they’ve still got three games in hand! Cracknell had that great shot in the second half but he was poor throughout the game.

I’ve watched the Saints play 10 times this season. I’ve only seen two wins but this really was the worst performance so far. It was good to see ball boys in attendance but someone needs to get them doing the job they’re there for. Late in the second half, Elphick had to go scrambling round the back of the advertising hoardings to retrieve the ball while three ball boys chatted together 50 yards away! At least there were only 767 people there to witness the performance. Where was everyone? Somebody at the club really needs to do something to promote the club within St Albans. That’s the lowest Conference attendance this season since Northwich Victoria v St Albans City!

The commercial drive at the club seems to have ground to a halt. There hasn’t been a single addition to the pitch-side advertising since the commercial manager left the club at the end of September. With the exception of the Doublotto with generous odds of 2352/1, there hasn’t even been any additional advertising in the match programme - some advertisers seem to have dropped out too. I see the Player Profile featured Theobald despite his release from the club! What’s happened to the Man of the Match award and the announcements for Golden Goal sponsored by Parsons? With half a season gone, Now is the time to put incentives in place to attract new advertisers and to tie in existing businesses for next season while there’s still a chance of maintaining Nationwide Conference status.

Wasn't the best performance this season, only Grays could be considered worse. No wonder the ball boys were bored but sometimes it is quicker to get the ball yourself. Missing Davis and Batt big time, but at least Sangere gave us some hope.

Northwich in the rain is hardly going to be a crowd puller but i think some of the attendances in the 3rd round of the cup today are more disgraceful.

It would be a bit difficult to exclude Theobald from the player profile when he only left the club Thursday by which time the programme would have been printed. The golden goal was announced.

Have any other clubs had ball boys? I read somewhere there was something in the Conference rules about them.......
