Lets have a laugh at Weymouth...

Our genuine stewards are very concerned about the welfare of all supporters, both home and away. The stewards that your fans encountered are agency staff and usually work as 'security' staff in nightclubs.

Weymouth stewards have made it known to the club that they are unhappy that away supporters are denied access to the covered terrace behind the goal. Please do not tar us all wth the same brush.

Vistana, I don't think you'll be seeing the agency stewards for much longer. However, our supporters club chairman wrote to Mr Calder about their actions during our last visit. I've not heard of any reply.

JK, I saw that amended table this morning. How come we slip down the table when we gained no points at Weymouth? How did the teams above us rise?

Roll on eleven o'clock!

That's a great shame, but I can't say I'm surprised.

That’s a great posting AFF – well said. I agree with you entirely- I attended all the meeting and press conferences when YCFC were only hours from going to the wall and I spent hours on the ‘phone to gain support from local business to help stave off the winding up of our beloved club. In the end it was our fans who pumped the money in to save the club by forming our own Supporters Trust.

I’m sure the Supporters Direct initiative will be giving Weymouth supporters all their valuable experience to help their supporters to mobilize themselves. At York City are fierce rivals are Scarborough but their Chairman and Supporters had the dignity and grace to offer support and help when we needed it.

Those who gloat about the Weymouth predicament don’t have the right to call themselves true supporters of their own club or football in general. Who knows? - Weymouth FC could pull through this and may even become stronger because of the experience. Saints supporters may have to eat a huge amount of humble pie if they end up relegating the St Albans City on the final day of the season in your own ground!

Good luck to Weymouth and to the Saints!

Okay, I've worked it out: the Confguide table is wrong.

With Weymouth it looks like:

17 Stafford Rangers 23 -10 28

18 Forest Green 26 -9 26

19 Cambridge Utd 26 -11 26

20 St Albans City 27 -15 26

21 Crawley Town 25 -3 24

22 Rushden & D'monds 25 -7 24

23 Southport 26 -12 23

24 Tamworth 24 -15 21

Without them...

16 Cambridge Utd 26 -11 26

17 St Albans City 27 -15 26

18 Stafford Rangers 23 -12 25

19 Crawley Town 25 -3 24

20 Rushden & D'monds 25 -7 23

21 Forest Green 26 -9 23

22 Southport 26 -12 23

23 Tamworth 24 -15 21

24 Weymouth 24 ? 0

That looks a little brighter.

Eh? Weymouth haven't been relegated already, have they?

As I understand it, if they go into administration, which they haven't yet, they only (!) get docked 10 points?

Interesting to see what the press conference reveals, I suspect they will be going back to part-time manager and players.

As AFF so rightly implies, there but for the grace of Gibbo, etc....

It's more complicated than that. If Weymouth do go to the wall their record would be expunged and all points won against their opponents will be reinstated. As a result York City would lose the 3points we won from them but St Albans City would not gain 3 points as they beat you. It would take a while to work out but I wouldn't bother as it's highly unlikly that the Muff will bwe thrown out. I reckon it will be a 10 point deduction max.

It is hypothetical.

My post above is in answer to JK's link to ConfGuide which has a feature to generate a table without one of the clubs. The original table is wrong.

I've simply removed Weymouth's results from the correct table.

We do rather favourably by their expulsion.

Kick 'em out!

Eh? Try again, Rob.

The immediate problem for The Mighty Saints in 2001/02 was that the, then, Chairman was unable to give the Officials of the Ryman Premier League assurance that we could fulfil the fixtures for that season. Result: Suspension from the League.

I'm not suggesting for a moment that The Muff are in the same position, incidentally. I have no idea of the scale of their problems.

And as for any implication from my posting, that wasn't what I had in my mind. The fans of the Muff, Canvey, The Urchins would have said exactly what you just said [wrote] regarding Martyn Harrison, Jeff King, Karl Williams, six months, six weeks, six days before their 'difficulties' came to light.

Speak for yourself. What a ridiculously judgmental, pompous and patronising (not to mention, cliched) post.

I will continue to gloat at their (fingers-crossed) demise and will laugh when they end up back in the Conference, but that certainly doesn't make me any less of a fan, be it of my own club, or of the sport in general.

Away form has been a bit suspect, but for the first time in fifteen years we are still in three cups in mid-January, so got to be happy with that. Beating Chelsea was nice too!

I see we've been drawn to play your boys again, AFF - this time in the FA Cup (replay wins permitting!)
