Asa's aces went down by 1-0 at the 'otel this evening courtesy of an own goal from a shot by their left back that was going 10 yards wide.

This was a blow for Captain for the night, Rhys Madden, who played his heart out and was quite superb between our sticks.

 

Our lads started with a mixture of experience and youth and it was Thurrock who had the better of the first half with a force 110 gale at their backs.

However Elliot Styles hit the post from the halfway line with the opposing keeper Max Aneke in no man's lnd.

Adam Parker was an early casualty and was replaced by John Hefford. Our injury woe continued and Billy Crowther, making his comeback after the horrific clash that left him at the Queen's Hosptal, another casualty in the second half. By then both other subs had been used as our experienced players were withdrawn,and it was backs against the wall, although Shane Oakley, on a promising debut did breakthrough only to be brought down outside the Fleet box, resulting in a bounce ball!

 

A determined effort by the Urchins against a team perhaps with a little more experience but a keeper's performance by Rhys second to none.

 

Big minus for the homers, bar not open till 7.17pm, but a big plus Karen's super burgers.

eliott's shot hit the crossbar and went in. the lino was at the halfway line and didn't see it. 1-1 imo.

 

plus i wasn't particularly impressed with karen's burgers. are you sure it's not karen you're impressed with b2?

 

stand out performances for me were from billy crowther and captain styles (who didn't have an armband).

 

own goal was actually hilarious. can't blame the defender though as there was no shout.
