Peering into the Abyss......

I keep looking at these postings on the Non League site about the reorganisation of the leagues, but also on our site asking for information about whether there will be a Slough Town to participate in the reorganisation. There are some postings giving a little information and others giving some forthright views about the manager and the Chairman, but what happens if this is the end of season scenario?.........

The team irritate the hell out of us by stringing a load of good results together, but just as it gets to the final stage, fall apart and end up just missing promotion.

Nothing has been settled about the ground, because the powers that be wanted to wait and see if the team did anything to make it worth continuing.

As they didn't, Mr Deaner decides he has taken too much flak for the cash he spends and just walks away, without even bothering to say that this was his intention and without offering anyone else a chance to buy the club.

In any case FRUS Ltd, which apparently owns the club, last posted its accounts with Companies House for the year up to 30/06/1999, runs into trouble for failing to observe the law, since there are now 3 years missing by the due date....

Steve Browne, is fed up with all the flak he has taken too and decides to go off into the great blue yonder.....(No cheering, now - behave!)

The players, seeing no-one there to fund next season, no manager and no ground, decide to look after number one and sign up for new clubs....

Slough Borough Council decide that it is not worth worrying about the 4-500 fans who have supported the team all season now the new ground aggro has gone away and decide to wait and see what happens...

The Supporters Club now have a major problem, but what to do with little money, no white knight to come along and save us, and no rights over the ground....

The Thornes rub their hands with glee...........

Too dismal to contemplate? Is this possible? So who knows something different? Tell us and cheer me up - PLEASE!

Why would the Thonres be rubbing their hands with glee? I think to them, the site would be better off with new owners as the site has to have football on it at whatever level.

The council continue to back the club in either securing the current site or a new one and work tirelessly with Chris Sliski of the STSA to help the club however it can. If the above situation were to happen, the council would help out financially?

To be honest, with the removal of Browne and Deaner, that 400-500 people could go back up to 700 easily. The other thing is, with more people helping support the STSA and their work, we have the potential to go some way, we just need to organise people that bit more and get them helping out with other events which in turn help out the club in a big way.

I think two offers have been made whilst Mr Deaner has been in charge, both of which he has rejected (allegedly - one of which was supposedly from big spending Bryco now at Hornchurch), so for him to walk away and someone pick up the lease on the site would be more beneficial than them having to pay off other outstanding debts etc.

All theoretical of course, but the club won't fold or go away without Mr Deaner and Mr Browne.

sorry boys....just had to butt in here...I can assure you that there is no truth in the Bryco fingy...an ex manager of your club works for Bryco and he was asked by the powers that be if the Company was interested and the answer was emphatically no....no disrespct to your club but the deal was already done with HFC .... you can't run with the hare and hunt with the hounds...well.... maybe the rabbit could...
