I was wondering if there were any more details in The Observer Altria. The details on the website were very sketchy. I know he was under pressure but it still comes as a surprise that he simply decided to walk away! Did he go of his own accord?

No, it doest rely give much away in there either!

Its does say along side website, "I have enjoyed my time on the board, it’s a smashing little club, and I hope they stay up this season"

He goes on to thank John, for the opportunities that he was given, by the club.

So I think that he genuinely did leave on his on accord.

In the Observer it implies Ridley resigned because Gibson wouldn't pay to bring in Claridge, something about not paying good money to old journeyman pros when Lippy's policy is on the side of yoof (all my own words so don't quote me).

There's now a retraction of this on the website from Gibson. Friday will be interesting...

Working titles for Ian's new book:
Saints to sinners
Out of the frying pan
No Wey José
Floodlit nightmares
Terrable times
