Video Clips. Fleet 1 Westley & Diamonds 0

I thoroughly enjoyed the game today & not just because the police decided my wife looked so dodgy she needed searching before entering the ground. I disagree that it wasn't a good match & thought both teams made a really competitive tussle of it in Macbeth entertains Catherine Earnshaw along with the witches conditions - and what a testament to the groundstaff that the pitch stood up so well to the elements.

R & D had 2 great chances, 1 in each half, but we played all the creative passing football. They were strong & broke well, but we really opened up space with an authoritative passing game in the 2nd half, when they seemed to stand us off us a bit too much. (Where was the reporter for the BBC who said R & D dominated?)

Enough waffling, here are the clips. Got the goal just, but was too far right & missed Jon keeling's contribution down the left. Look at all the controlled passing that led up to it, though.

Too easy for Lance

And again

Fleet should have scored

Another chance passes us by

But not this one!

Happy New Year everyone.

I re-formatted them into DivX to meet the upload llimits on the clips. They play fine in Windows Media Player & Real Player at my end. Quick Time doesn't like them. Maybe you need to update your media player or try downloading DivX

Could someone else let me know if they play ok, please.

Graham - My system defaults to Windows MP and plays ok.

I think its important to get De Bolla back in the team asap - he was involved in the move down the left on one of the Fleet chances shown in the clips as well as being instrumental in the goal build up. Certainly shows what a good turn itv was by Sodje - he made half a yard space for himself and spun on a sixpence - a quality finish.

The Quinn miss doesnt look as bad on the clip as it did on the day either - it was on the angle of the 6 yard box and the defender to be fair, did briliantly to throw himself in front of Quinn.

Incidentally I agree with you Graham re the pitch - the drainage system is obviously settled in now, but I dont think there was any standing water and the pitch itself looked green and flat, which at least allowed some football to be played when the ball was kept on the ground. Full marks to Peter Norton for this.
