Other top teams are losing their better players to League sides - Daggers are losing Craig Mackail-Smith & Stevenage are losing George Boyd, for instance - both to Peterborough (and Grays have already lost 2 or 3 of their better players as well). Whilst it does give these sides money to throw about, it does potentially weaken them a little if they dont get similar quality replacements.

Obviously Stevenage are weakened without Boyd- he was a class act at Stonebridge Road last season and they'll miss him. But £280,000 is a huge sum of money to invest in good players- especially ones from lower in the league. Dagenham didn't pay much at all for Benson, not even a fraction of £280,000. We payed around £4,000 for James Smith, who would challenge for a place in any Conference team bar Oxford. If we were offered £50,000 for Charlie, I personally would take it- Liam seems to have an eye for a good player from an unknown background, and I think he could do wonders with £50,000, including replace Charlie.
