Weekend Rail Services (or lack of them)

Recommended Posts

Another weekend of buses between Dartford & Gravesend.....

.....should be running at a frequency of every 15 minutes.

Loads more weekends like this one to come. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

As for Higham / Strood tunnels - current estimates are for it to be closed in either May or September 2004 - when it is, it will be closed for approx ONE YEAR.

Oh joy. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Yes so much for encouraging people onto public transport, I'd happily leave the car at home and have a few pints before/after the game if it weren't such a nightmare. There is a regular bus 480 and 490 past the ground if thats any use to you.
Strood tunnel was closed for ages a while back wasn't it sorted out then? Obviously not, it could only happen in this country!

I believe that it is now every Saturday game since Xmas that there has been no train service from Dartford - Gravesend.

This is happening at a time when the club needs as many people getting to the games as possible ..

Any chance of Connex making a pledge , to recompense for the potential gate receipts and bar takings we are losing out on.

I wish - but for company in 'financial troubles' (ie needed a £58million bail out from the government) to do that would take a miracle. Actually, connex merely run the train service (supposedly) - network rail decide on what rail works are needed - so perhaps we can ask them. Then again, they expect to lose £1.8 billion this year!
