Crowds, crowds, crowds...

Boring, boring, boring...

If that is banter, then bugger off to a statistitian's convention and stay there.

What matters today was the result...Read the headline of this link, we beat you.

Now take your "Oooooo we had most of the attendance" and shove it up your [****!!****].

A very commited performance from the team and, as has been mentioned elsewhere, in the end it came down to the desire to win; ours was greater than theirs.

I was unaware of all the selection problems we had, or Billies injury, so that makes it all the more sweet to come away with the 3 points.

I can't understand why they failed to adapt to the condidtions later in the second half. Apparantly their manager went off to Florida for Christmas and missed their Boxing day match and this one so perhaps they lacked his leadership wink

But we have now shown we are up to the task no matter who the oppo is. Another valuable 3 points and thats 16 pts from a possible 21 in our tough December.

MMOTM was Ronnie. Some great saves.

But we do need to sort out this penalty business!

Not to prolong this arguement, because Gazz is so sensitive, but others like to discuss, and to put this bed, but I did predict 750-1000 away supporters and got slated....an apology or an aknowledgement I was right???

Come on Umbrella man...you were persistent in your doubts.......... cool

Chelmo banging on about the crowd again? From my roving position, I would suggest that based on the responses to the respective goals, it was pretty even. There did seem to be a sizeable walk-up - Southend fans who didn't fancy the trip to Coventry perhaps?

The important thing is whether some of the "extras" come back. A 1000+ gate is good, but an extra 100 week in week out is better.

I hear the burger bar were disappointed when fat Jeff failed to show wink

Seriously though, two points from two games is not what they might have hoped for and could prove vital in the final analysis.

One point from 2 games surely Si?

Anyway, back to the match (couldnt really give a monkey about the crowd). Most has already been said. I think whats most encouraging about the win is that it wasnt our best footballing performance of the year, but we still managed to win against one of the best sides in the league.

If we carry on our excellent home form, we only need to pick up a few more points than we have been doing away, and well be on for a play off place. A shot at the title is not out of the question either, but we need to keep the consitency, all the way to the end of the season.

Folkestone is a big game now, just as Leyton was. Weve won the big games at home, now we need to pick up points against a less challenging team (all due respect) but away from home. Weve struggled to do that this season, and Folkestone will be no pushover, but if we win that, i reckon we can get at least 4 points from the next 2 games (heybridge and borehamwood, both at home).

Anyway, drifted off at something of a tangeant. Great win yesterday, in difficult circumstances. Roll on Saturday. Happy new year to all

How many fans do you believe you had yesterday ?

If you really believe you had more then the home support you need help shocked

I agree UM!

If you said for arguments sake, that there were 400 at each end and 350 down each side. Then IMO they had 400 + 175 (half of one side) = 575 approximately.

Or, alternativaly, 350 at the ends and 400 at the sides = 550 approximately.

But who really cares, we've banked the proceeds whoever was there, wherever they came from and whichever team that they supported and a good afternoon was enjoyed and the majority of those there went home happy!!

From Margate FC, I'd just like to say 'Thank You' for doing us a little favour!! Your hard fought win was well deserved and with the weather as it was, justified as was ours against Folkestone.

Would like to wish you all a Happy New Year and we'd be delighted if you would come and join us in the Conference South!
