and the eastside sang the tune as the 5th went in and SP completed his hat trick....atrocious conditions in the 2nd half but a superb urchin performance which could have been 10....with the ever increasing wind in our faces we came under a lot of pressure in the 2nd half but aveley were never looking like getting a goal and we hit them constantly on the break...

 

it was last time out in this league 4 years ago that aveley came to the stadium and mugged us 0-1 after we had played them off the park....sweet revenge and we go to the last of the festive games at sudbury in good spirit and full of confidence...fans in excellent voice as well so well done everyone...harlow still on our tails and shame about canvey...

 

obviously their free flowing passing game failed for the third time on the trot..... grin

Great result! Great game and entertainment.

 

At half time we would have almost settled for a two nil win. For as the ballboy on the eastside told us"we have the wind!" When we realised he was not talking about a burger related bout of flatulance, but a meteorological advantage; the full enormity of our success sank in.

 

The second half saw the Urchins initially pegged back by a wind assisted Aveley; for us to counter very effectivly.

 

The introduction of Amos; who can play the ball even it would appear into the face of a gale force wind; sealed our dominance and aided a hat trick for JESUS.

 

Good time had by all.

thats because you don't know him YA...off the field of play tony is a gentleman and good company...he can also take the banter from the fans in good spirit as well...





You're probably right Unc. He'd have probably had a laugh with us all in the bar afterwards. Anyway that game is over so best to move on and forget about it.
