Well guys, you did it - a very tough Christmas period. 5 points from 3 tough games and you end the year TOP OF THE LEAGUE!

 

Well, I for one would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year and lets make the remaining months of this season very special to every follower of the mighty Gate!!

Great to finish the year on top! Well deserved. Happy new year to everyone associated with the club including the fans, especially those on the forum. But the biggest & "Special" best wishes go to the PLAYERS as it has been their efforts that have brought us to this top spot. That second half was massive for our season. We've now got ourselves into a fantastic position to go into the new year. Well done the players. Terrible conditions today and you got the three points. Now all our title rivals have to play each other over the next couple of weeks so the pressure is on them to catch us.

That was a really important win for us, and in such terrible conditions the commitment of the team, and the bravery and will to win was outstanding.

Great result in the circumstances, and richly deserved after the second half performance. We passed it well considering the comnditions and got the break we deserved. Thought we had a good claim for a penalty in the first half from where I was standing, but maybe others had a better view. Thought Folkestone were looking for a nil-nil from the start. Interesting to see in the programme that none of today's 11 played in the same fixture on Boxing Day last season.

Went to see the ref after the game to say well done for finishing the game despite the conditions (worried him at first as he thought I was having a go at him)

A battling and well deserved win today - I also felt that Folkestone were playing to shut us out for a 0-0! Well played everyone!

You are correct Alex. Trotty has to be aware of that & probably in the back of his mind he IS! He has to instill into the players minds that others will up their game against the leaders,no matter who the leaders are, but we must counteract that with positive aggressive football,the desire to win ALL games,doggedness & sheer grit,the same kind of play that has got us to where we are today.Keep the attitude right too & the right results should come our way despite us looking down on the others.Time now to really turn the screw & to push on! 007,an apt number of a year to show Bond style professionalism & approach!
