Where's Charlie???

Not the best of games is an understatement!

That said the conditions were awful and it is difficult to play against a team with 5,6 and sometimes 7 strung across thr back line.

Whats happened to the Rushden of old? I used to look forward to their visit as they were a good footballing side. This lot were only intrested in getting a point. That said, they had two guilt edged chances to score and managed to [****!!****] them up!

I think Mr Westley has a tough job on his hands as they were playing like a desperate side, low on cofidence.

Finally, how come McCarthy didnt get MoM today? He was outstanding in conditions that were not easy for defenders!

Did sort of agree with the MOM, though, Hawkins distribution in terrible conditions was really first class - he actually looks to pass the ball short on the ground as his first option. Cannot remember a pass going astry which meant our midfield seemed to collect a lot of passes , rather than having to compete for a hoofed boot upfield.

Yet another great team effort - and boy doesn't Opinel show some passion in his challenges.

Another genuine class display from Lance - it will be a travesty if he doesn't make the premiership in 2-3 years.

If Jamie Ashdown can , then Cronin can.

And to make my day complete came the news that we now share something in common with Man Utd - Sam Sodje has been red carded against us both.

Screw loose or what.

Thank goodness his nephew is of sound mind!!

Crawley was two teams playing....... Not very well.

Westley just sent his team out today with the intent to get a point. In that respect I'm glad that we nicked the winner with 7 minutes to go and it was a shot that took a wicked deflection!

Serves him right! AND gives the Rushden fans an insight into his mentality. I felt sorry for them because the team is obviously not without talent but seemed to be playing to orders.

No he won't, he'll miss the Halifax match, as for some reason suspensions from "totting up" come into force seven days after the 5/10/15th booking. Presumably to give the FA time to do the paperwork.

Taken from The FA Disciplinary Procedures:

Quote:
Any period of suspension arising from recording cautions will commence on the seventh day following the date of his last offence. The suspension will cover all approved First Team matches until such time as his Club’s First Team has completed the number of matches appropriate to the punishment in approved Competitions during the period covered by its opening league match and ending with the final match in which the Club is playing in an approved domestic Competition.
