We have had many who are willing to do this in the past can we start now...

those who are not willing keep your comments to yourselves ..some of us are and will do all possible to ensure slough survives until the end of the season... whatever...

If I can ask a question regarding the Trust - are there any plans currently underway with the view to possibly reforming or taking over the club at the end of the season.

Given the current situation the club is in I would have thought it is now vital to ensure this happens, especially given that with a maximum of 6/7 months till the new season there is plenty of time to get this underway and ready for the new season.

From what I understand the Trust has all the legal requirements to take over and a little bit of cash in the bank. It would bring stability (ie we would know what the budget is each week and so would players when they joined) and hopefully transparancy.

So should we give money now to pay players when relegation looks certain, or just stick with youngsters playing for hardly anything, and put all money towards next season?

I also hope new people whould join the board.

I can't believe Im saying it, but the quicker we get this season over the better. The problem then remains will Deaner want to hand over the reigns to the Trust or do we have to reform at a lower level (as Staines Rebel pointed out, that might be an easier option from a legal point of view).

Maybe the Trust should organise a meeting before/after an upcoming game to guage the response of supporters?

A supporters meeting is a must and soon. It's really time to take some decisive action as it seems a case of waiting for things to happen.

What I think really needs to happen is an open meeting which involves Roy, the STST Martyn Deaner and the fans.

We need to find out what's happening with these stadium talks, or is it just going round in circles and nothings really happening. If it's not then we need to take the bull by the horns, thank Martyn Deaner for the money he has put into the club and take it over. He's always said he'd hand the club over if we wanted.

Discussions then need to take place between the STSA and supporters in another open meeting about what division we play in next season and where we can play. I personally see no need to jump down divisions as Corinthian Casuals got away with playing at a decent level for years with only paying expenses and we are a bigger draw than them.

Then to get players over the summer what I think we would then need to do is place adverts in the Observer, Express, Time FM, Maidenhead Advertiser and all other local media offering an open trial. You could then get local talent for next to nothing.

I AM willing to give money to the club if anyone other than the current owners are in charge. I AM NOT willing to give any money to the Trust until I can see a concrete plan for what their future plans are, whether it be taking over the club, reforming or whatever. I said it this summer, I said it the summer before and have seen nothing to convince me exactly what the trust actually does, let alone whether they are able to run the club.

I think there are quite a few supporters who would be willing to contribute including myself.I, like, the above posts, want to see everything out in the open with a fresh start under the guise of the supporters trust.Hopefully sponsorship and recognition from public, media, council! and the fan base would bring at least,a steadier ship without this constant wages being with held saga that we supporters have had to endure in the last few years.I still think Martyn Deaner need not sever all ties with the club, he just shouldn't be in charge!

I quite agree with Chris here - let's have some proper meetings with all parties involved. Get everything out in the open so we know exactly what the hell is going on. Then people can know what their hard-earned will be going towards and be able to choose either way.

I will comment on what I want THANKYOU. Putting in a few extra quid into the pot every week wont save the club at this late stage. We should be bringing in local talent on expenses to continue for the rest of the season with Wilko running the ship, if the club cannot find resourses even for that then it is time to drop down to a level where we can find success (where ever that may be).

Roy is in a difficult situation where he has to keep his fingers crossed for the next handout from Mr D. The budget has been dramaticly cut in the last month or so, if we still cant find the cash then we should keep on cutting. Bringing in young lads like Roberts and the poles may not save us from relegation( no disrespect to them), but in my mind is the only way forward.

I would urge anyone wanting to help the club to donate to buy necessities like medical equipment for Kevin etc.

What if 50 fans want to donate £20 directly to one player? How will that be fair to all players?

Are you planning to hand over the money to players/staff personally to ensure it actualy gets to them?

Sorry for being so pedantic, just want to make sure peoples money doesn't end up being used for anything else than the intended purpous.

The Trust would have £2k more in the coffers if it hadn't rolled over for Roy and coughed up money for him to give to mercenary players who were going to leave anyway.

It is time to be realistic and accept that we are not going to be able to compete in this division with our finances as they are. If we lose every game from here on this season by playing local lads then so be it.

Hendon are a side operating within their means without a financial backer and knowing they will be evicted in the very near future, but are making a fight of it - we on the other hand decided to go down the route of signing players on money we couldn't afford at the start of the season on players who clearly couldn't give a damn about the club. Lessons need to be learned.

It might not be pretty to watch but I was proud of watching a scratch team put in ten times the effort against Ashford than we saw earlier in the season. We lost and we are doomed for relegation, but at least now we have a team that is worth supporting.

I have to agree with most of what has been said so far in this thread.

It's about time that this club was run openly, and I agree a fans meeting with all parties involved in a possible takeover by the fans group is a must. This club has been working behind closed doors for too long, and it is time that changed. I have heard that at clubs like AFC Wimbledon the fans meetings take place regularly to discuss budgets, potential signings etc.

I would not be willing to give money to the club in its current circumstances, once any move to make the club fans-run is done I may consider it, but being a student I do have have huge amounts of money to give every week, but I will try to find something to help.

I must also agree with KT, watching the players we have now giving their all is good to see, especially now we can all accept that the club is on its way to relegation (again, no disrespect intended to those players). Hopefully those who are with us now would be willing to take part in the new club.

For any future investment in the club an organisation would need to have the following available:

1. The current expences/commitments of the club.

2. The current level of funds/debts in the clubs accounts.

3. A budget stating planned income/expendature.

4. A structure to report and manage the above.

5. And finally a leadership that will provide a "product" that is worth the investment.

Some of these are in place, however most are not available or even withheld.

The one area which most people agree on is the "product" - and this looks like it is coming together through the weeding out of the leaches (Jarvis Drake et al) and a core of new and old blood who actually want to play football for Slough Town FC.

One fundemental issue keeps rearing its head and that is: should the current management structure remain supported by the trust or should the trust take over completely?

I personally belive there would be greater support (both finacially and people through the gate) for a trust or similar run club that had the 5 criteria above in place and carried out its activites in an accountable & transparent way.

Ok- FOR ONCE---

I totally agree with Dom. (even if he cant spell) We all need to know what is going on, if the trust expects donations, I for one, would not have paid a penny to the wages dispute and would happily of voted against it. We need some sort of structure and agreement on what should happen so thew club can be run by the trust. I feel very sorry for wilko and westy both of whom deserve my utmost respect (and no-one gets that) but i think that Liam has a serious point, the trust should have control of WHERE the money goes. At the end of the day, we are down in 4 months (probably) so we need to plan for next season (pessamistic i know but with a squad with no stability it cant be helped) and i think next season things should be handled a lot better and therfore differently. The ruight hand NEVER knows what the left is doing here.

And before Slisk complains about something ive said-- you are entitled to your opinion... i just think things arent working and im not blaming you or the trust but sometyhing MUST be done SOON.
