Ramsgate 1-1 Margate

Not happy with the result or the performance today. We only had a couple of short spells of good play. I think after today though people would prefer to watch Margate as we were actually trying to play football and we have much better facilities. 2 toilets for 600 Margate fans and 1 burger bar for the whole stadium, what a disgrace that club is, but i suppose it is not their fault they have no money. Abbot was shocking today and the midfeild were gone so many times in todays game. If Ramsgate knew how to create chances we would have lost today.

Yes I agree.

I thought referee was man of the match!

Danny only had 1 chance and dragged that wide.

We were content to soak up pressure after Jimmy's super goal after about 4 minutes.

When McKimm went off midfield lost their way even more.

I presume Lee was not fully fit as he only came on late.

I reckon we will beat Folkestone though.

Could have been worse, it was never going to be an easy game, and they do try to disrupt normal play. All that long-ball stuff is horrible to watch. Was disappointed that the ref was suckered into thier falling-down tactics, but Jimmy's goal was worth going for. The bloke that elbowed Trotty in the goalmouth should have walked. Our support was pretty impressive.

Local derbies always difficult, and hey, we do not need to go back there again this season. And we are still above them, so now that's out of the way we can move on.

A really crap game to be fair both teams really dont look like they should be in the top half of the table, if i was a neutral watching the game i would have wonderd what all the fuss in the local press had been about and why the hell i gave up my boxing day to watch that game.

As for the facilitys and the ground what a joke "Whitstable" made a much better effort in the qualifing rounds of the FA cup, admitedly that game meant alot to them but you would have thought Ramsgate would have tried to make a good impresion on the locals of thanet.

And why was there no police outside of the ground just out of intrest surely a 1500+ crowd should of had some police presence.

A fair result in the end. No,we werent on song today but having said that the defence played well.A few errors, one of which lead to their equaliser by being out of position but in general they snuffed out Ramsgate attacks. The long throw of Ramsgate was met by a gate header at every throw & in the whole game I would think their were probably only about 10-12 chances all told. Ramsgate had the better of possession in the first half but Jackos strike was a great one.To anyone that says it was a 25yd lob that went in I can say to them now that was a well placed & intended shot from around 40yds that Jackson made & it was a worthy goal to go into the break with.He meant that without a doubt.Danny Hockton could & should have made it 2-0 but fluffed a very good chance with only the keeper to beat.Just missed the far post.Should have scored.

Second half,as we knew Ramsgate came at us but apart from their goal they created hardly anything.

They seemed to be more than happy just to have equalised & they seemed to turn off the gas at that point. After this the Gate came back into it & starting speading the ball around well. As in the first half a chance fell to Dolton whos shot just missed the far post.

The more the game went the better we were looking. Scott had a solid game in goal & all othe players stuck it out & worked hard for the point.

We were lacking today but it was a well earned point against,I thought a very disappointing Ramsgate side.

Have to agree that Abbott was shocking today.Oates made a few errors at the back but improved in the second half.

A good local derby though despite the lack of chances with plenty of excitement & nail biting.

No trouble which was good, plenty of noise, mostly by the Margate fans in all honesty & a fair result.

A good crowd of around 1800 with what was a terrific turnout from the gate fans.A very large contingent of Margate fans that i.m.o outnumbered the Ramsgate fans with plenty of first time visitors joining in with their support for the home team at the Ramsgate end.

A fair day & a result that should please the Margate fans slightly more than their rivals.
