Anyway, it's bragging rights for the Urchins.

 

Canvey are a very good team and on this performance deserve their position in the league table. However, today, the Urchins took the sting out of them with another very workmanlike performance. Three points - job done.

Unc just called with the final update. Hopefully he will post his report later this evening.

 

The young Canvey team fought very well and were certainly well motivated. We looked a bit Boxing Dayish, which is not surprising but we did what we had to do and brought away the points.

 

There is a mutual respect between the true fans of Hornchurch and Canvey but there were some idiots giving it large with bad language and taunts.

 

The final crowd was announced at 702.

 

With a fair wind both AFC Hornchurch and Canvey will both be playing in the Ryman Premier next season.

 

Our appreciation must go to Unc for all the phone calls which kept us up to date with the action.

Great win urchins, good first goal for us and a great game, with canvey passing the ball round well. We should have had another penalty but was not needed in the end, 2-1 to us was about right and 3 more points
