Okay - I have researched this.

 

PM's are a two way conversation between two people (despite them appearing as one way prior to this version) - as a result they are not totally deleted until both parties have deleted them. Therefore they still existed despite them not appearing under your account.

 

When the import took place, there was no easy way to avoid these re-appearing. So my apologies but there was/is nothing sinister smile

That would explain why some conversations I remember having didn't appear in my inbox.
