Billericay 0 - 0 Bromley

1 missed penalty a piece.

referee had a nightmare going both ways.

like proper nightmare.

Macca red carded for god knows what :S

the blues fought for every inch of the pitch and really put in the effort to come away with 3 points.

only thing that stopped us was some incredible goalkeeping from the bromley number 1...had an absolute blinder!

defence looked good only save i remember billy making was from the spot.

Essex agro at the end...again terrible reffing.

all in all a good game enjoyable, Bring on the pikeys next week,

Crown at 11?

Excellent game for a nil-nil. We had the better of the chances, particularly in the second half but as was said afterwards, if you give away a pen and have a man sent off then a point is probably not a bad result. Their keeper made some outstanding saves, but he needed to have a good game with that donkey Duku having his annual mare against us!

Not a bad result but we dominated large parts of the second half, and were unlucky not to score, their keeper made some fantastic saves.

Billys save from their pen was excellent too. have to say that Leons penalty wasnt the best, think thats the first time ive seen us miss a pen (except borehamwood, where hodges put the rebound in).

Bromley look good going forward, but a bit shaky at the back. Having said that, theyre the first team to keep us out for a while.#

Sad to see Nathan leave, shame he couldnt sign off with a goal. Thanks for all your hard work for us Nath, the best of luck in the future. Come back and join us when you retire from the Premiership .

Great atmosphere today, if your hoarse like me then well done.

Roll on Tuesday for a big AWAY win hopefully.

One of the best 0-0 draws I have ever witnessed, the game had everything and was dramatic until the last.

Bromley were a good team, but we more than matched them - we can take a lot of positives from that fact alone.

I think we would have won today had it not been for two of the best saves I have seen at this level - simply unbelievable and I think the quality of Bromley's goalkeeper was underlined by the ovation he got after the game.

The sending off and the melee at the end put a slight downer on a game which was a terrific advert for the Ryman league. High quality throughout with both teams probably happy with the final result.

Good stuff lads, lets see something similar at ETU on Boxing Day.

Oh and one last thing..... Der Der Der Der NATHAN ELDER!

Why didn't Nathan take the penalty to attempt his 50th goal for you?

Did he salute the fans at the end?

What was his performance like today?

I'm guessing he will be a squad member for our match away at Bournemouth on Jan 1st.

First chance for home fans to see him in the flesh will be against Millwall on January 13th as we have the small task of dumping the Hammers out of the FA Cup on January 6th.

Got my ticket this morning, we are taking 5,300 up there and quite a few fans are buying Hammers end tickets as we have been oversubscribed.

Anyway i'm drifting......

He doesn't normally take pens for us. Even though it was missed the result was more important than Nathan getting 50 goals.

Yes

Alright.

I'm sure others will go into more detail.

Yes. Not often I enjoy an important game like this (usually bighting my nails!) but I did today. 1st half honours even & you could see Bromley were a dangerous side. Second half I thought we dominated. It would have been sickening if their penatly had gone in. Great save Billy. Whelps came into the game far more in the second half. Rikki B won nearly everything that came near him. And I didn't see any sign of Nathan easing off the gas! Quite the opposite if anything. A clean sheet against a good team and still undefeated at home in the league.

Fantastic effort and unlucky not to secure a win. Great to see Nathan bow out on a high. What a player. I'm certain we will see him on 'Match of the Day' before too many seasons have gone by. Seeing Ricky Burbridge playing so well at such an opportune time was heartening also. Welpdale was also amazing again. A few more good results (with a bit more luck) and I'll be confident that a play-off place will be a deserved end to the season.

Great to see an improved attendance. I can't be there for East Thurrock. Can't wait for the 30th

A great result and a great performance. Shame we couldn't win it 'cos we had plenty of opportunity to but for their keeper putting in a 5 star performance. Yep Rikki played well and he does like to batter the back four but he also has a great touch and isn't afraid to take 'em on with the ball. Has some great control and touch. I'm sure he'll do just fine.

Well done to the lads...now to get maxium points from our remaining games of the year.

I was not impressed by Bromley, they had a couple of decent players but the rest only got the ball through fouling. Nathan in particular was caught numerous times. Dave was sent off for a second yellow card for kicking the ball away and their No 11 asking for him to be carded. Otherwise the boys played well and their keeper saved the day for them. I thought that Billy did very well since he had very little to do and pulled off the penalty save near the end.

We always seem to have good games against Bromley, even though there's not many goals and yesterday was no exception.

Bromley have Walker to thank for keeping them in the game. Some of the saves he made were unbelievable and although it was our first "blank" for over two months we did get quite a lot of efforts on target.

It would have been a choker if they had won late on, it was IMO a crass decision by the ref when the ball is blasted at you and hits you two yards away, but thankfully Billy was upto it and produced a great save.

I thought our whole team played well yesterday. I would give MOTM to Blewitt who looked class against a much fancied front line.

We deserved to win the game but the team can take heart from their performance. However, we must get going away from home and really we desperately need three points on Boxing Day.

I'm disappointed that we didn't grab all three points yesterday, our lads were superb giving a very mature performance.

Probably the best comment I heard yesterday was, "that ref should have brought Billy a drink after the game"

If that pen had gone in....

I thought it was a bit cowardly of the Ref to walk off with Nathan, or did he think the cheering was for him?

There is no place in football for that kind of refereeing imo, thankfully, and despite his best efforts; the ref was unable to have an effect on the outcome

The Bromley keeper may have had a day to remember yesterday but is he as quick witted as Billy?

In the dressing room yesterday after the game Matt was giving his debrief and said

“In 15 years of football, that was the best goalkeeping I have seen"

Quick as a flash, Billy pipes up with a “cheers gaffa"

Great performance lads, it was a wonderful afternoon of top draw entertainment.

And well done Chris on his player of the month award
