Kentish Town - a "community" club?

Well, that bit is certainly untrue. People at the club are still trying to get me to change my mind about my "retirement" at the end of the season. It's hardly likely that they would have been looking to replace me at the start of the season, especially with an idiot!

Can't really give much credibility to the rest of your statement given that knowledge, I'm afraid. There was certainly extreme doubt over Hendon's ability to stay at Claremont Road this season. Perhaps you should stick to subjects you know something about?

"Regarding Lee Scott I'm not sure whether the Club's concerned will want me to divulge on here that they showed an interest in his services so I had better not risk it but rest assured that during December in particular the phone never stopped and I have it on good authority that our postman was on treble time. "

As the Americans say "Bullsh*t" Particularly the postman bit!

I'm talking about you wanting me to join Potters Bar Town as your right hand man following my departure from Haringey as I have it on good authority that was very much the case. Anyway I don't think I would be particularly interested in stepping into your size eleven's even if I was offered the job, for one it would be too far to travel and I don't drive and you will be a hard act to follow, you seem to have everything down to a fine art at Parkfield. As for the Hendon situation there is still no sign of any bulldozers driving slowly up Claremont Road and there won't be for sometime yet, that's why our groundshare arrangement with them was an inspired move on our Chairman's part of Richard Branson, Bill Gates and Rupert Murdoch proportions with inspirational foresight attached to it, he never seizes to amaze me.

clip Rods, I asked you to name the clubs that offered you the position of SECRETARY and all you can come back with is a repeat of your hilariously wild claim of a post as a RIGHT HAND MAN. Can we assume from this that W&F were the only side to offer you the Secretary's role and that your claim that several Ryman clubs were lining up for your services as Secretary are yet more exaggeration?

If only he had told Hendon it was a groundshare agreement rather than as they seem to believe just them helping you out when possible then maybe your club wouldnt be begging for a ground every home game.

paulb - Well how on earth do you know this is the case as you have nothing to do with our Club. For your information we are not begging for a ground every home game infact we're being snowed under with kind offers of help in our hour of need following the Cockfosters fiasco on 30 December at Hendon, Brimsdown Rovers approached us to switch the game to Goldsdown Road on Wednesday night and have happily agreed to stage it on 21 March following the postponement on Wednesday.

Maybe the fact that the Hendon secretary has been on here and said that they had no groundshare agreement in place with you, but had agreed to help you out when possible. There is a difference!!!!

Secondly any club with half a brain would offer to host you in a league game, they dont have to travel, get home advantage etc etc.

Paulb - I assume you are referring to SteveR who is not the Hendon Secretary, I think he is just a fan so wouldn't know the score anyway. Besides the Hendon Secretary, who is one of the most experienced in the game, would keep such information 'Royal Secret' as it's an agreement between the two Club's and for a privileged few to know about such as the SSML.

Trouble is, clip Rods, according to the latest information available on the SSML website, they DON'T know about it!

And besides, SteveR is not "just a fan", he is one of the club's webmasters (a position you could only dream of at your current club) and releases information passed to him by the club secretary. Do you not think Mr. Etchell would have wanted to publicise the groundshare agreement to their fans had one actually existed? Wouldn't it also have benefitted Kentish Town as Hendon supoporters unable to get to their away game could have come and watched your lot instead?

Tell you what, clip Rods, you keep the unresearched twaddle coming and I (and others) will keep coming back to pick the holes in it.

Why don't you let this one go, Rhodes? No-one believes that a club (Hendon) who have no security of tenure themselves could enter into any sort of binding agreement with another club to groundshare with them.

Somehow, Kentish Town have been allowed to remain in SSMFL Division One without a valid groundshare agreement, and now that it has been brought into the wider public domain (by yourself, repeatedly), the SSMFL hierarchy cannot ignore the situation for next season. Unless you have a valid, formal, groundshare, or a ground you can call you own, by 1 April (29 days and counting), you are going to be thrown out! I'm sure that everyone who posts on here has great sympathy for Kentish Town FC as a whole, but NONE for you - posters from all directions have repeatedly laughed at your crazy claims and statements. If you had not made them, you might have received some help from someone.

I'll be surprised if SteveR even knows who the Hendon Secretary is let alone spoken to him, Graham likes to keep a low profile Clement Temile style and squirrels himself away in his office virtually 24/7, he's an old school football man through and through so wouldn't do things by halves by making the hit or miss arrangement with our Club that you are suggesting was the case.

Right - time to clear a few things up.

1 - Rhodes is correct that I'm not the Hendon secretary. I'm one of the two people who update the clubs official website, and also I'm on the board of the Supporters Trust. I speak to our secretary on a daily basis and we have spoken about Kentish Town using our pitch on many occasions. I think I have a pretty good idea of what is going on.

2 - Our secretary has made it very clear to me - and others at the club - that there is no formal groundshare agreement. Why would he lie? Anyone who wants clarification on that can call our secretary Graham Etchell at the club - the phone number is on our website. I'm really not sure why Graham would ask me to post on our messageboard stating that there was no formal groundshare agreement and that we had agreed just to help as and when we can. I'll dig the link out if you really want me to.

3 - With regard to Claremont Road, the sale could happen at any moment, and after that we could be asked to leave the ground with only a few months notice. Back in the summer it was strongly expected that we could be on the move mid-season, hence why it was impossible for any groundshare agreement to be put in place for the whole season.

I know exactly who our secretary is. Given that I have to report to him on matchdays before I take up my matchday duties, the fact that I call him on a daily basis, and often visit the club office on non-match days to speak to him, sort out paperwork etc. Stop talking such utter rubbish.

unfortunately SteveR, talking utter rubbish is a rhodes speciality. As you've disproved him you could ask for an apology but based on previous experience don't hold out much hope for it.

Good luck in the future wherever you end up. One of my Polish mates is a Hendon fan so I keep an eye out on their scores and wish them well (except when they play Manor of course and we have quite a good record v you really!)
